I have approx 9.2 cc in my realize band my doc says. Give or take a smidget. hee hee I have very little restriction, and am going for my next fill next Thursday. Hopefully that helps. I'm keeping my hopes up after reading pongomps post and saying she's at 10 with good restriction. My surgeon also said he can go past the 9cc in the realize. Hoping this does the trick. I'm done 85 lbs in 13 mos and loving life! Oh, this has NOT been an easy journey. I worked really hard! UGH! Some say it's been easy. Not for me!

I have approx 11cc in my 9cc band. So far, I haven't popped..lol My doctor said he has a few patients that needed this amount of fill to reach restriction, so I suppose I'm not alone. The last fill (0.5cc) I got was a couple of months ago, and he measured my band pressure with a gauge and under fluoro. I have great restriction now. Other than stringy foods like celery, I can eat just about anything. I don't pb or have reflux, and I've had one sliming episode since my last fill. I eat three 1/2 cup meals/day plus a healthy snack, and I feel completely satisfied. Hopefully, you hit the sweet spot at your next fill.

Hi Kiz. Great to hear from you. I laughed out loud when you said you haven't popped. Your post was encouraging for me. I definitely need another fill. And.. you've done great, so, I'm keeping my hopes up that I will get full restriction again. :-D My doc seemed to think going over the 9cc was fine. He said sometimes it can crease a little when it's too full, but that there has been no proof at all that this would cause a problem. He said he's never had a leak, erosion, etc.. with the realize band. He prefers that band over them all.

Hi everyone,

It's been so long sense I have been on here, over three months. I have not lost any weight in those three months but this last fill I think will do the trick. I'm at about 6.1 cc's now and it really feels tight, but not too tight. I'm really happy where it is right now.

This coming Tuesday the 12th. I'm doing to go and do some bowling, Than go see the movie AVATAR in 3D, than go to my support group meetings that night. It's going to be a very busy day.

I hope to be on here more often now.

Don

The Huber needle is a non-boring needle. Normal needles punch a whole, these slice so that the port membrane can re-seal and not leak.

We've received one common request over the last year+ from members on LapBandTalk who've undergone or are interested in the Realize® Band procedure: An online community they can call their own.

Following the success of LapBandTalk and VerticalSleeveTalk, we're happy to announce that we've just launched the beta release of the Realize Band Support Community, located at RealizeBandSupport.com . We're confident that you'll find what you're looking for at the new Realize Band Support (RBS) Community.

If you're currently a member of LapBandTalk or VerticalSleeveTalk, you can just log in with your current credentials, there's no need to sign up for a new account.

Log in now to join the REALIZE Band community and become one of our founding members!

Wondering if Realize® Band is the right choice for you? Looking for information and community after your Realize Band Surgery? Look no further. You'll find everything you need at RealizeBandSupport.com .

I started LapBandTalk the night I came home from surgery mid July 2003. Following my own Lap-Band® procedure, I was looking for information and community support. I came across a few helpful web sites, but they all lacked a sense of actually belonging to a group of people who share many similarities, struggles and habits.

After years of researching and reaching out to the community, we've been able to build the most comprehensive online resources for all types of Weight Loss Surgeries. Hundreds of thousands of registered members contribute amazing stories and useful information to our pages.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
