Marine Wives join me in Ball Challenge

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I'm not the only Marine wife here. The Marine Corps Ball is coming up in November :Dancing_wub:and I refuse to look like I did last year! (I don't know when other military service members have thier events, if around the same time, of course you are welcome to join us!)

I would like to combine weight to lose and exercise accomplished in this challenge. This is mainly to keep me motivated. I was on a plateau for a month; the scale was teasing me, getting close to 160 but never under. When my daughter started school, I decided that instead of trying to grab a few more winks after dropping her off, I am going to workout. That must have been what helped break the plateau. Finally this morning I was under 160. I started out super slow, can't believe it's even helping, but its something. Right now I am only at 15 minutes in the morning. I just find usually a cardio workout on OnDemand, with an ab workout when my legs just ache too much.

Also, if we have previous Ball pix, let's post them. I will try to scan mine and post it (the un photoshopped one, lol, i photoshopped it before we sent them out)

Name............Beginning Wt............Current.............Goal......Left to Lose

NewHope4Me.......................159.6.......................159.6.....................140...........................19.6

Wish everyone the best of luck!

How exciting. I am not a marine wife so I really don't have pics to post. This sounds really neat... I will be keeping an eye on this thread :)

I have one as well where I am posting month by month pics till my wedding.. Have had a slight plateau last couple weeks and need to kick it in gear too.

I didn't get to scan last year's pix yet. I had my daughter take a pix of me before I went to work yesterday, but I don't want to post it without the "before" pix.

Wow, you're getting married in Hawaii, awesome! I know you are going to be gorgeous. Is it going to be on the beach? How exciting!

Well, looks like I may be the only Marine wife getting ready for the ball. But I'm doing this for me, so still going to post the pix.

The black dress is from last year's ball (i'm a little tipsy in that pic). The other pix my daughter took. (both were taken with phone, so not the best quality. The pix i have of the ball on my computer have been photoshopped so it doesnt look like a thigh is hanging from my shoulder)

The weekend of Sept 13th I'm meeting my mother-in-law (and to think tomorrow is our 5th anniversary and I haven't even met her yet); I'd like to lose at least 10 pounds by then. That will be my mini goal; with the ball my next goal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
