Anyone banded from king county?

I am looking for locals to become friends. I will be having surgery with Dr. Srikanth in Federal Way. I got approval from insurance today and looking forward to my weight loss journey.

Anyone from King county want to be friends and support each other?

I am in Maple Valley but closer to Issaquah. :tongue_smilie:

I had surgery on a Friday and went back to work the following Monday; I have a desk job. Weight loss has been slow for myself so I made another appointment with the nutritionist. Determined I was not getting enough calories for the amount of exercise I am doing. :tt1:

I am on soft food for another 2 weeks.

I live in the west Seattle area but would love a support group get together. I was banded in sept. 07 it's been a struggle but i think being around other bandsters would be helpful . just post when and whereand I'll be there

hiya taffie. i grew up in west seattle. lived there until a few years ago. so miss the city sometimes. I am up there every once in awhile to visit my parents and friends.

Hello Everyone I have not been on in awhile just wondering how you all are doing. I seem to be losing very sloooooow. I guess thats ok not sure but I have another appt. on 1-8-09 will see what happens.:tt2:

cindy your doing great on the weight loss. I have been loosing slow as well. hoping when i go to see julie in cpl weeks she will give me another small fill. My body seems stuck on only giving up 4-5 pounds a month. that and im still eating to many calories a day.

Thanks Lisa I saw Dr. Bock today he added a little fluid i think he said 1/2 cc so now i have a total of 4cc in there. I was kind of discourged but he said everyone loses a little different I lost only 4 lb. in 6 weeks. You are doing awesome congrats bet it feels great huh...

Yeah it feels good to be lighter. Im counting down my days until meeting with julie. I am hoping for a fill. Past couple weeks I have been eating more than when i got my last fill in october.

Hi All--

My name's Reeni and I finally had my doctor submit a referral to my insurance co (group health) for lap band surgery. I'm so excited! I know I have a long ways to go before I even get assigned a surgery date, but regardless, I'm looking forward to starting my life over.

I attended my first support group seminar last week. It was inspiring to witness all the success stories. I hope to one day have my own . I'm seeking all the advice and support I can get pre and post surgery. Wish me luck!

hi reeni...what group health meeting were u at? i had my surgery at ghc and was at the federal way meeting last week. congrats on getting the paper work submitted.

I was at the Federal Way Clinic. I came with my sister-in-law Shawna.

well what a small world! I'm sorry I don't recognize you as it was a rather large group and hard to see everyone :-) A friend of mine indicated this was a good site to gain insight on all things LB, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Are you a regular at Fed Way? I think I'm going to enjoy the monthly meetings. I'm going to the meeting in the central district next week too. I apologize, I didn't catch your name at the meeting...

My name is Lisa. Yeah i am a regular at the federal way meeting. this is the best site i have found for information. There arent to many good books out there. so this site is good for research and finding other folks in your area who have the band.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll be asking more once I get my pre-op checklist.
