Urgh had a Teriyaki chicken stick today because I went out after work and didn't have a Protein Shake with me. Feel like crap for breaking from the diet for the 2nd time in a row. And I'm still hungry, so I am so there with you all!

Back to it tomorrow. It's another day after all!

dagnabit I probably should have read this post...now I am hungry  Oh well it is bedtime so I'm willing my hunger to dissapate and my tiredness to kick in!

Ohhh Lellow only 8 days!!

That is exciting! and just think 8 more days of Optifast ... that is one part I am NOT looking forward to...I've tried it before ... but I figure hey at least I know I only like the chocolate shake and the berry bar so I don't have to do trial by error!

Feeling better this morning. Down 5 pounds in 3 days. I am finding that I like the Optifast better if I freeze it for an hour before I drink it. Hope all of you are hanging in this morning!

Tonni, I'm glad that you made it through ok. I don't start any kind of pre-op until mid-August so I don't know first-hand what you are going through, but know that I am thinking about you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
