Hello! Total newbie from Arizona

Hi everyone. Long time reader, first time writer, heheh. After much procrastinating I am finally on the road to a healthier life. I have my first appt with the Dr next week and I am pumped! I just have a question for people who have already gone through the process.

What is the average time from first appointment to surgery for most of you? I am trying to get an idea what to expect. I have United Health, and it is a covered procedure, its just about getting approved. I am lucky that I am covered by my insurance and my husbands (which is also UHC).

Anyone care to share?

Thanks a lot.

I'm seeing Dr Terry Simpson. Ive read great stuff about him and he is real close to my work too. :)

hi, welcome to LBT.

it all depends on whether you are using insurance, if they have requirements, etc...

my approval was quick (less than 2-3 weeks) and i was in the OR 2-3 weeks after that.

best of luck to you!

Wow, I cannot believe it has been a year since my last post. That is how long it took me to "get ready" for everything. A lot has happened in the last year that has put off my surgery, but that day is coming soon! I will be banded June 17th, this Wednesday! I am pretty excited.

How exciting!

Best of luck and be sure to keep us posted!
