No, no kids yet... just turned 21, still in school. Wow, that's good. So do you know what size band Dr. Metz is going to put in? Some people on here come out of surgery with a small fill... do you know if he's going to do a fill at the time of surgery?

I will probably be getting the regular size band, I belive the maker is Allergen or something like that. I don't think he starts with a small file. I forgot to ask.

atenciym: Our surgery on Aug 14th, my husband is first case @ 7:30. I am second case @ 9:00. What time is yours? We probably were all at the same nutrition class on Aug 4. I am a bit nervous. I had to have a kidney stone removed on Aug 7th. I did not like going under anesthesia. I have not had surgery for over 24 years. But I told my husband I did it, I lived through it and I know the surgery is for all the right reasons. Now I have to hope that I am cleared to still have surgery on Aug 14th. The urologist and PCP say it's okay but Dr Metz wants to make sure I don't spike a fever or feel 100%. If so I will have to postpone it for a week or two.

ibldenver:hope you get the go ahead from Dr. Metz. My surgery is scheduled for 11:30 so it sounds like I might be right after you. Are you both starting to get nervous yet? The liquid diet is starting for us very soon!!! Just looking forward to that. I hope it goes well for all of us. I wasn't at the Nutrition Class on the 4th. I actually had all my appts on July 18th as I live so far away. My Iron was low when I did my preop blood work so that could be my hang up. So have you had any fever at all with your procedure on the 7th?

Wow! I'm geting excited for both of you... you guys will do great. I still have awhile I start my liquid diet on the 18th and have to check in at 5am on the 21st. I went to the nutrition class on the 4th and then went upstairs and paid all that money! It'll be worth it though. Let's all keep eachother updated since we are all doiing this around the same time and with Dr. Metz.

I hope I get the go ahead also. I am getting very nervous. I think because I did not like having the anesthetic on the 7th. But I keep thinking there are so many people that would give anything to have the opportunity to get the lap band and I get to have it. So I try to look to the future and not to the recovery. Going to the store tomorrow to pick up all the liquids and food for the next couple of weeks. Here's to being healthy.

I was banded on July 7th by Dr. Brown and my husband was on July 11th by Dr. Metz. So far, so good! Had our first fills last wednesday. If anyone wants to chat, I am here. I plan on attending the next meeting (is it in 2 weeks?)

The meeting is tomorrw. I think it's at 6pm (but I could be wrong on the time.) What size band do you and your husband have?

Good luck with the surgery pumpkin! How is the liquid diet going? That was the worst thing for me, but you survive. I have the normal 10cc band and my husband has the larger one (i think it is 14cc???). Which one are you getting?

I am heading to the meeting tomorrow night and hope to meet some of you there! I need some support

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
