Eating out at Costco!

Recommended Posts

Last night I went to costco to get the last minute 4th of July stuff.. There were people everywhere. The minute I walked in I was greeted with a sample, then another, and another, then another....

I think by the end of the trip I had 5 samples! I ate 4 of them the 5th one I put in my purse (String cheese still in package)

Once I left I laughed so hard in the car when my kids asked what was for dinner... I responded I just went out to dinner. I was stuffed it was great!

Moral of the story if you're a bandster you can have a free meal at costco  After that trip I am not so sure I need another fill...

the same thing happened to me the other day! I was there around lunch time and I was hungry! I ate the samples by the time I left, I had had steak kabobs, cheese, yogurt, grilled chicken, cherries, a cracker with spinach dip and a small piece of cake! I was done til dinner! What a great way to have a free lunch! AND they said, "there are no free lunches!" they must not have been a bander at CostCo!

I did the same thing yesterday. I used to make the mistake of getting a salad at the snackbar before I went in and not having enough room for the samples....now I know better. You just have to be sure and chew, chew, chew. I have gotten "stuck" walking and eating. Be careful....

My husband and I always have "lunch" at costco when we shop.....hehehe. Isn't it great.

I am afraid to eat that stuff. If it is something new I have not tried as a bandster, I dont like to eat anywhere that does not have a bathroom close at hand for emergencies.

I can just see myself eating the "wrong" thing and having to sprint across the football sized store dodging housewives pushing carts the size of small cars while vaulting over a few toddlers for good measure . . . . only to not make it to the bathroom in time and having to hyuck something up between the mouthwash and toothpaste (while in dire need of minty fresh breath).

Also, did you notice that the kind of things they have for samples tend to be high carbs, high calorie and high fat. I think that might be one of the reasons they may disagree with my stomach.

LMAO!!! I can see that being a great idea now. I unfortuatley made the mistake of going there on the first day of my preop liquid diet. My DH and DD were eating Pasta, fruit, fish, chicken, granola bars, juices, pizza...you name it. I was politely declining but after like 8-10 samples I was ready to pull my hair out. I cannot believe how many samples they have...BIG ones too. Anyway, the next time my DH asks me if I want to go out dinner I'm saying "Yep, Costco"

hmmm, free costco buffet. I like that idea. Next time bring the kids, and some to go boxes. Just grab the plate and dump the whole thing our to go box. Better yet, sounds like a good place to take a date for dinner! Then I can take her to best buy for a movie.

If I was you I would request them to do more healthier items!

I had 1 piece of grilled turkey breast, 1 piece of grilled chicken, artichoke heart, A string cheese, and to top it off healthy choice ice cream bar (1/4 piece)

I think I had a very good healthy meal all for free.

I bet it would save money on a second date too. Considering there probably wouldn't be a second date!

I was at costco on July 3rd too. I had tri tip, hummas on a cracker, beef jerkey, a tiny fajita wrap and about a 1/5 of a healthy choice ice cream bar. Yum yum. I was full until dinner.< /p>

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
