1 day.......me too! after 10 days of logging my food I have lost 1lb. I guess I would have been gaining had I not logged and exercised. I sure would like to lose 10-15lb by December. We go to Hawaii in December for our fortieth aniversary. I am determined to get this ticker moving!

So I started logging my food today and let's say whoa. I usually get a peppermint latte a couple times a week and a big one and I found out that was like 350 calories due to it is not non fat and it is not sugar free. I guess i have to do some rearranging because alot of places do not carry sf peppermint just vanilla. oh well what an eye opener.

Oh by the way I am doing alot better than i was with my cold so that is good.

You can buy those sf syrups by Torani online. My husband likes lattes so much we bought a machine. So, we drink sf lattes with lactaid fat free milk.

I am so tempted to buy a machine myself. I drink a venti non-fat latte everyday. I could pay for a machine in less than a month, I am sure! Unfortunately, I don't like the Torani sf syrups.

I never tried the Torani brand I have bought the Davinci brand though and it is not bad. Maybe I should get a machine. Not know maybe for christmas.

We have a Saeco Spidem. I just make one cup of coffee in the morning and my husband makes his latte. It has more than paid for itself. Look on ebay. Might get a good price for a machine.

As you know, I have been stuck for months too. You know, my friend that had gastric bypass when I got lap band quit losing about the same time. Now, she lost 122lbs because she has malabsorption..........and I lost 70. She reached her goal and am half way through. I have heard that as we lose our body's metabolism slows. I have been on a 1000calorie diet for two weeks. Yes, I usually eat1200 a day, but I have only lost 2lbs. I am frustrated, but not defeated. I go next week for the test where I blow into the machine for my metabolic rate. I am really interested in knowing how many calories I need to eat to lose. There has got to be an answer for this weight loss stall.

Ladies, ladies, ladies....I am Miss Plateau Queen! (Click on my ticker and you can see )You can not take my title from me, so stop trying! I have had 3, yes, 3. Two for a month or little over a month and then my last, and the killer of all plateaus, for about 5 months. It lasted from March until August. I just recently started losing again, albeit slowly, but I am losing. I am pleased, because before banding, I can assure you my big butt would have been gaining this whole time instead of holding steady. So, I'm really not complaining, just claiming the title I think I have earned.

1000cal seems to little I hope the blow test will reveal you can eat more

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
