July Butterflies Master Thread

Recommended Posts

Thanks to all the Butterflies for being here for me. We all need support. Heaven knows, those who don't have bands don't understand.

By the way, I am feeling better today. The stomach medincine has really helped. I am tired of being on this plateau. Has anyone considered getting a sleeve? I have been entertaining the idea......not that my surgeon would ever open me up again.

There's lots of days I kick my own butt for not going with the sleeve. I had a choice in the begining and now I can't just redo it as I'm self pay. Then other days I'm happy with it. Who knows if i had gotten the sleeve I could be kicking my own butt for not going with the band. I think for those who have had trouble with the band it's a good idea. But for someone like me it would just be because sometimes I just get down with the trying to figure out how much fill is to much or not enough and the snail pace of weight loss. Then I see people that haven't had they're band even as long as me and are at or below goal. I know, I know everyone loses at a different pace. But I wish I could get into they're mode when it comes to exercise and stuff. Darn, I'm way off subject and rambling. Sorry!

Yep, your right it's a mental game. And darn it I'm gonna win this time. I've battled these same demons for so long. I have the tool now, I've just need to put it to proper use.

So I went shopping yesterday and got measured for some new bras I went from a 40DDD to a 38DDD I could not believe it I was like no way.

Then I went to Lane Bryant for shirts and most were to big. OMG where do I shop now? I am in between stores. I tried Khoals and Dress Barn but could not find anything what a fun problem to have.

It is fun when you first notice it. I am at that point now. But my "girls" are being kind of weird. I went from a 44DDD to a 40G. When I take pictures I still look huge because my boobs won't get smaller. I can still wear a 14/16b at LB, but yesterday when I went to get dressed, I realized I didn't have any cold weather clothes that weren't work clothes. My 17 year-old daughter suggested I wear one of her dad's sweatshirts. I looked at her like she was crazy, cuz he weighs 155 soaking wet! I put it on and IT FIT!!! He came home and saw me wearing his shirt and was shocked.:) So, today I went to Old Navy and bought some misses XL sweaters and fleece tops and went to Kmart and Walmart and bought some men's Medium sweatshirts....Feels kinda good.

Oh friends, I've missed you all so much! Things have been going really well for me out here, in fact so well that I haven't been posting in forever!

Weight loss has stalled a bit (though I think that's because I've been having too much fun with friends on the weekends with wine and the occasional beer).

I has some port site pain yesterday that was strange, but I really haven't been having too much of that lately. Have any of you? I guess it's pretty normal to occasionally get some soreness.

How are all of you? Everything is looking (and FEELING!) so wonderful it makes me smile!

Yea the sore port is a funny feeling- but certainly not painful. Just happy to be losing weight and feeling better.

I'm down to 188 now- which is crazy for me. I don't think I've weighed around this since my freshman year in college! Thank you lap band!

I've really gotten into my work out again- any of you tried yoga? Man it's so relaxing and SUCH a get workout.

I miss reading these posts. So glad to be back on here now.

Blessings!

I went to the endocrinologist yesterday. He isn't sure why I ache and have IBS, but he said I am I do have Vitamin deficiency. So, I got a B12 shot and a script for vitaminD to take every three days. The stomach med is really helping, and I just take tylenol for the aching. I am hoping the Vitamins help.

Okay, Butterflies, have a great weekend! Journal, exercise, eat slow............you know the drill! Take care!

Sorry I've been missing for so long. My gall bladder gave a few little warning twinges and then got really bad. On a Friday evening, of course! It's a long story, but eventually I did have surgery. The laparoscopic surgery was converted to an open surgery because the gall bladder had apparently attached itself to other things. Even after a week plus on antibiotics, it came out red and angry. Then when I got home, I got a case of cellulitis up and down my right side. Talk about painful! Every time I moved, it felt like boiling Water was being poured on me. So I stayed immobile a lot. But the story doesn't end there. I got the staples out of my 10" incision, and steri strips on. When the steri strips finally came off, I rolled over in bed and felt that the sheets were wet. The incision split open. I got a nice ride in an ambulance at 5:30 AM. So I have been on a WoundVAC for several weeks to promote healing. It's much better, and I will be transitioning off of it shortly. The doctor at the wound clinic said I can transition to the wet-to-dry dressing any time. I was going to wait a few days, but that damn machine is driving me crazy. I nearly threw it out the window tonight. Since they do want it back intact, I think I'll switch to the other dressing. (rolling eyes)

Understandably, I haven't been on the computer much for nearly six weeks.

This year has been a real bitch. Maybe next year I'll actually be able to concentrate on weight loss. I hope.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
