Hey July 08 Bandsters! I used to write on here right after my surgery, but since I have not been on in a while, it kicked me off and I lost my username.

I have been struggling and have fallen off the bandwagon, so I as we start into our 2nd year, I am getting back on!!

I am in college, and since I eat out with my friends (who don't know) I tend to eat more than I should, and end up throwing up. Huge problem. I have been doing it for a while, but the sad thing is, I have not realized how often

I was doing it. I just thought of it as "I am in pain because I have eaten too much, so now I will correct what I have done." It is not because my band is too tight, I just am scared people are going to notice that I am not eating, and now all they notice is me going to the bathroom.

It was the easy way out, but now I don't know how to stop. I am going to go to dinner with them and just eat before.

Also, I have been drinking with meals, not getting in my Protein or Vitamins, and just not eating right.

I am doing a master change!!

And to start, I need some protein ideas. Favorite shake?

Has anyone else had similar problems? I feel that I am on the verge of bulimia, and I am going into see my doctor and a therapist (since I think it is more mental) right away.

Thanks!!!

Doctor: Dr. Michael Green

Banded: 7.11.08

Starting Weight: 220

Current Weight: 158

Fills: 2 Fills, 1 Unfill

OK, My work days differ a little from home days so I'll start with work days:Decafe coffee and a EAS Protein drink

midmorning: pure Protein Bar

lunch: a mix of deli meat baked ham, peppered turkey,

cajin chicken about 4 to 6oz

Dinner:same as lunch but add 2 to 3 oz of steamed

vegs And cut meat down to 3oz also try to get in 40 to 60 oz of through out the day.

non work: b:half whole wheat english muffin toasted twice (so it doesn't get stuck) topped w/lowfat cheese and deli ham cut in ribbons and topped with a poached egg YUM!

L:tuna w/ mustard instead of mayo and special K crackers

D: chicken breast cooked in crockpot w/buffalo wing seasoning(McCormick) a little lf sour cream on the side 2oz steamed greenbeans and make sure to get in Water. Switch it up here and there but that would be a normal day.

Thanks that totally helps me - I'm def. snacking to much.

Hey Texas, You have done great on your weight loss. don't be ashamed you got banded. I have told all my friends and they are so supportive. If we go out and eat, someone would love to split a meal with me or if I order a full meal, ask for a take-home box when you meal comes and box up all but what you think you'll eat and set it on the floor beside your purse (out of sight - out of mind). If you don't want it, give it to a friend or take it home for an elderly neighbor that doesn't get out often believe me they will appreciate it. Hang in there. You're on the downhill ride.

Hi All,

My bandiversary is coming up Aug. 8th. I originally joined this thread, but then my surgery date was moved. I still feel like part of the "July butterflies" though.

I'm down 50 lbs and have about 30 more to go. I only have 3 cc's in my band and have had many fills and unfills. It's been difficult to find my "sweet spot," but I am progressing, so I'm very happy.

Good luck to all of you in you second year of the band.

Hi, All!

July 1 was my one-year "bandiversary" and today was my check-up with the surgeon. Officially down 105.6 pounds!! I have not had a fill since November but she (nurse practitioner) gave me .5cc today bringing me to 10.5cc. This is the first time I can really feel the difference, even Water is slow going down (but it is going down, thank goodness). I had lost 4.2 pounds in the last 8 weeks but have been "grazing" a lot and eating more than I should so I really felt I needed a tweak. Still need to lose at least 35 pounds (60 to get where the "charts" say I need to be) but I am very happy to say that my blood pressure today was 110/60 and I have not taken any bp meds in a year. I am also diabetic and have been off insulin for nearly a year. So I am good whether I lose another pound or not.

Leigh

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
