Hi, everybody! Wow...it's been over a yr since I checked in. It took me about 9 months to reach my goal weight of 160, and I have stayed the same ever since. I am very thankful for my band. I have started having a "complication" and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? My port access is at my waistline. One day I noticed a pin-sized hole at my port site that had some drainage. I went to the Dr and he prescribed some antibiotics for precaution, and I covered it with gauze and tape. It sealed up. It has done it again, only this time it's more of a pen sized hole, again with drainage. I think it originally happened from my pant waistband being right at the site, and it heals, then it happens again. Anyone else had this problem? I don't see a solution due to the problem site being at my waistband.

Congrats on reaching goal! I have never heard of that with the port, but ANYTHING that has a opening/drainage in your body needs to be taken very seriously! Please see a doctor again and insist on further assessment! Good luck and keep us informed! God Bless!

Well hello everyone! Wow it has been forever since I have come on here. I am doing amazing! I have been out enjoying the summer, yep wearing a bikini.. loving every minute of being thin. I had gained a couple pounds, went and got a fill and am back down again. We are actually selling our house or trying to I should say, we are wanting to move to hawaii. Yep hawaii. Our daughters are both in college and we figure we have a couple years before grand babies so we need to travel and just be spontaneous.. once my girls have babies we will settle back down again. i hope everyone is doing great. I will put some new pics up today. xoxox

So I was chatting with a friend tonight, and he's always one of my cheerleaders in the weight loss dept. He asked how much I've lost - popped out the calculator and the answer is 81 lbs.

Cool.

So he asked how much more I wanted to lose - hmmm well I'm starting to think about that. I mostly focus on the next "5" - when the scale passes a 5 pound mark - but I'm approaching "milestone numbers".

In 14 lbs I'll weigh the same as I did post baby2.

Lose 5 more and I'll have lost 100lbs!

Lose 15 more and I'll be postbaby1.

Lose 20 more and I'll be pre-baby1.

Once I hit that weight - it's just 5 pounds to my first - "let's evaluate how I'm looking" goal.

Max more I'd want to lose is 30 more - which takes me to "when I was in college, and looking back I looked pretty awesome even though, I still thought I was fat and needed to lose 25lbs cuz Cosmo told me a girl 5-7 should weigh 120 lbs or less". Bah.

So now I've crossed the "probably where I'll stop halfway mark" and I have 4 lbs to go to the max-I-want-to-lose halfway mark.

Either way, it's almost halfway gone.

Always ;-)

Hello Junies!

My hubby and I just got back from Hawaii we spent our 20th anniversary there for 2 weeks and it was amazing. we sold our house in september so things are really going the way we want them to. I hope everyone is doing well and having a great holiday season! xoxo

Hey Junies!

It's been awhile and I've been hiding. Some of you have done SO well with the band that I feel like a failure most of the time. After my gall bladder surgery in May, I've gained. From the surgery itself, I lost 10 pounds and gained it right back, it was probably just Fluid anyway, so I try not to count that. Besides that, I've regained about 26 pounds. I had gotten down to 371, now I'm back up to 397. I haven't had a fill since Dec 2009! My company switched insurance providers last year and they don't cover ANYTHING weight-loss related. Today I finally called my doctor's office and it turns out that it's only $150 for self-pay to get a fill done in the office. I have an appointment with my doctor next week, he may or may not be able to do the fill right then (I might have to schedule another appt for it). I wish I had called sooner, I had no idea it would be that affordable.

Here's to a new year, I'm not going to set any concrete weight loss goals, but I do hope to be under 300 by the end of the year!

I'm still here and doing well! It is absolutely crazy to think it's been almost 3 years. This time three years ago I had no idea how much life was getting ready to change (I was self-pay and didn't even go to my seminar until the end of April). Best thing I've ever done for myself and I'd do it again in a heart beat :) So glad to see life on this board! Looking forward to hearing from others!!

:)

You know I'm still around, Great. So happy to see you rejuvenated this thread today. It was just a couple of hours ago I was thinking about our June group. I was snooping around the PS threads and came across Allie's name and photos and it prompted me to wonder how everyone is doing.

I am doing wonderfully. No band related problems...EVER....and I hope....NEVER. I am at the weight I was the day I got married. Not sure why, but for some reason, my metabolism switched back to the way it was prior to menopause (when I gained all my weight). I'll take it. I am healthy and active and have submitted photos, etc. to my ins company just lately and hoping to be able to take care of the panni I have. Weird...a year ago I could hardly tell I had one and without any weight change my panni started growing. Cannot tell I even have one when it's tucked into jeans but it needs to be off...interfers with certain things.

Iteach...so nice to see you pop on and to know you are doing well.

I'm still here..and still struggling. I did get a fill back in January, but haven't really lost anything, just bouncing back and forth over a couple pounds. I'm so jealous of those of you who had really excellent results.

Hi all! I am still out here and haven't been on the site in quite awhile. I must of had this thread flagged because all of the sudden I got all of the updates from today. I am doing well and yes it is hard to believe it is all most 3 years! I don't even think of the Band and have just gotten used to the new way of life with eating, etc. I did recently have to get my band loosened. It got so tight that nothing was staying down. Dr. said the tightness could have been stress related. Now it feels like I can use a fill...so fickled. I am happy to report that I have maintained my weight loss and I too would do all over again. Apples I had to laugh, I had no idea what a "panni" was and had to look it up! Good luck with that surgery. Nice to hear from you all! Take care!

Wow, so great to see some folks checking in and enjoying their new banded lifestyles. I have had a little struggle in that I moved from CO to UT and with the added stress, unhappiness with the move at first, etc. I regained some weight. Been a struggle to get it back off, but I'll get there. My dr said sometimes life just happens, but the important thing is to put it aside for a bit and when things settle to get back on track, which I have. Also, 2 weeks ago I became grandma for the first time. Now I will be thinner and better shape to chase after grandkids too!

Allie, if I remember right awhile ago you posted that when your house sold you were going to move to Hawaii? is that still the case? congrats on your house selling. How do you like the results now after your plastic surgery now that it's been awhile?

Angel, so sorry you are struggling.

Apples, of course, I know you are still around! ;)

VZ, I had to have some taken out of my band with my knee replacement surgeries. Took awhile to get it all filled back up and I am still not where I was but I think at a comfortable place to maintain. I've thought of getting a tweak but am so afraid of getting too tight.

Thanks for checking in, love hearing how everyone is doing!

Hey all! I have had a bit of a struggle the last year.. My house burned in October 2009, I had knee replacement in May 2010, my mother died in June 2010, had heart cath in August for chest pain (all good) and now, I am headed to the hospital again for bladder/rectocele repair.... As you can imagine, I have had my ups/downs with weight as well. I just got a fill again this past week, and I am finally back on track! I am so glad to hear from everyone. I thought you guys had all forgotten about this thread. I look forward to hearing your ongoing updates! hope to see "less of you" in the future! God Bless!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
