Hey ladies, Well I got on my scale twice this morning just to make sure and it read 199.5 both times. So I am barley in onderland, but at least it had a 1 in front of it. I have not seen that in about six years. So yes, good news. I'm happy, I just hope it keeps going down.

Teach, thanks for heads up. I think I am going to like it also. I teach cooking classes to high school students (FACS) and in my old job as a County Agent I used to do food demos and teach cooking and stretching your food dollar so I think it is a good fit.

Allie, about my dad. I truly am happy that he is happy. Now, I would much rather have my mother back but we know that is not possible. It is hard to move on, hard to think about it, it's just hard! My mom and dad were married for 43 years and he needs someone and she is really nice, I like her and so it is okay. Now my dad loves me and my kids more than anything and wants my approval. I could be a little b@#%h about all this, but what good what that do. It would make all of us miserable. Like I said, I just want him to be happy. I'll never have my mother back in this life and I feel so lonely. No one can ever take her place. I do have a wonderful MIL but it's just not the same.

I am so sorry that several of you have expereinced such pain in your family lives. It really does hurt me, because I have had and still have the most wonderful family and have always felt loved and protected. I have such a tender heart and my heart hurts by knowing what you have not had. I'm very sorry.

Anyway, now I feel like I'm rambling

Back to the good news....I'm in ONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all!

In response to Allie's question about Valentine's plans...I think I will cook a good meal for my husband. I feel so bad that I just don't cook much any more since having the surgery. My husband loves food and actually does a lot of the cooking theses days. He is one of those lucky ones that can eat pretty much what ever he wants and never gains any weight. So I think I will grill some porter house steaks (his favorite) or maybe just one big one and take my 2-3 bites from it....And then some Creme Brule for dessert, his other favorite. Now desert I will have no problem eating...that will slide right down and will be a nice treat. Then perhaps hit the Casinos or a movie. Not sure yet about the lingere...still have body issues....

Lucy ~ Congratulations on hitting ONDERLAND!!!

Allie & Apples ~ You have my sympathies on the abuse, I'm a victim too. Don't like to talk about it and almsost did not post this, but just wanted to let you know my heart goes out to you... I too am fine and I think in the end it actually made me a stronger woman...In other words, I don't take sh*t from nobody...HA!

Yippee tomorrow is Friday! Even though I'm not working, I still look so forward to Friday's....I can at least take a break from job hunting for the weekend!

Good Fabulous Friday Morning Junies...

Lucy~~~~ congrats on onderland!!!

that is sooo awesome! I used to sell pampered chef and loved it. I still have lots of pampered chef items and really miss seeing all the new products. It is alot of fun and you meet some really neat people! You sound like an amazing daughter to your Dad! He's lucky to have such a wonderful daughter.

VZ~ your valentines dinner sounds soooo yummy! I too have a little body issue .. my kanga pounch is still there, alot flatter but still there. I am just excited I no longer have a double roll! LOL

Long~ I will have to go to Target tonight and see what I can find.. A tankini huh.. I would have never thought to try one but now I will!! LOL.. 200 crunches jeez! I have been doing sit ups (with some help from hubby) and can do 10 but really struggle to do them without pulling on my legs.. but hey I'm trying.

Last night I went to the mall and American Greetings was going out of business and the whole store was 90 % off .. I bought sooo much stuff. I have enough cards for the rest of my life and enough candles to start a major block fire..lol.. My bill was $750.00 and I only paid $75.00!! Even the singing cards were only .49 cents! Can you tell I was excited..lol.

Well the weekend is officially here tonight! I plan on shopping (for hopefully a tankini) and maybe going to play pool and then get ready for our big date night!

Did I tell you guys that my hubby sent in a letter to a radio station contest and won! Yesterday they brought me a dozen roses, 2 tickets to a jeff foxworthy concert and a clock..lol.. We are on a winning role! I am going to try and post the pic here of me getting my stuff..

Hi Junies,

Sounds like we are all doing great! I am going to see my girls this weekend for Vday. Soon as I get done working this afternoon, I am heading north to stay with my older daughter. We will probably do some shopping. She has a new apartment and we are going to shop for curtains and other home stuff. We will probably go out to eat and I will treat my girls.

Did I mention that I just found an apartment near where I work and will be moving to town in the next few weeks? Did I mention that I hate moving? Did I mention that I am NEVER moving again??? (I say that every time...) So anyway, there is some more exercise for me. The apartment (townhouse) is on three levels so I will have plenty of stairs to deal with. The good thing is, 6 months ago, my knees would have said NO, do not get that apartment. Now I can do the stairs without problems.

Have a good weekend Junies!

I'm in Philadelphia visiting my sister and we went shopping today...man did we have fun!! It'e been a long time since shopping was fun. I'm down to a 14 or 16 and it's grest. Hey all you beautiful Junies,

Hope you had a great Valentines today!!

I have been busy helping my son (who is getting married in Oct.) and his fiancee. They bought a house, they wanted to buy after they got married or at least closer to date, but the market is so good right now, and the perfect house came open. I have been helping them get it cleaned up and trying to do some minor DIY. I went back and read to catch up.

long, hope you feel better soon with your root canals

teach, great pics!!!

lucy - woo hoo!!! Congrats on onderland!!

strike - girl, I know what you mean about moving, I don't look forward (physically, mentally :scared2: to helping those kids move!! at least it is not my stuff LOL

Allie - wow, congrats on the winning streak, and being under 200, I will wait and woo hoo :crying: when you say.

I was reading about the Mom situation with you and apples. I felt like I was reading part of my story, mom chose him over me, have 2 (his children) siblings that I love dearly, but distanced. I never could understand, I am her flesh and blood and he was just a man  He died 3 yrs ago, I did finally forgive him, had to for MY sake. I never really told him, just started talking to him, Hi, bye, after not for so long. Never did forget, God said I had to forgive, like HE forgave me, but HE didn't tell me I had to forget. It sure took a weight off me, It wasn't my fault!!! The blanket thing is to weird, I do the same thing, I have to be covered with something, sheet, blanket, etc....

It has caused stuff between me and my husband, I was like a tiger with her cubs with my kids, NOONE was going to touch them!

Anyway, we are stronger and different women now!!! We cannot let the past effect our future.

I pray you all had a great day, the dinner plans sound great!! And Allie, can't wait to hear about the date :)

Have a blessed Sunday,

addy

Happy Sunday!!

I too did some shopping this weekend and can so relate to how much more fun it is now. I found an amazing clearance rack at the Gap and got so many cute springy things (must've been from last year to be so cheap on clearance) and EVERYTHING I took to try on FIT!! Then went to NY & Co and found some more, a shirt for $5 and I didn't realize til I got it home that it's a MEDIUM!! I had tried it on and everything, took it off the Large section of the rack never checking the inside tag til I got home. Tomorrow I am going to Kohls to look at tankini's. I see they are on sale and then I have a 20% off coupon. Hope I find something doable. I am a little frustrated by how my legs look, lots of skin but also still very large, especially my calves. I tried on several capri pants and couldn't get the leg openings up over my calves. Though i also went to Goodwill and found a cute white pair that were Jones NY for $5!!!

I also can relate to having to have a sheet or something over me even in the midst of summer. Can't sleep without it. feel too out there and also I'll get the shivers even if I am not cold.

Teach, did you shop at the King of Prussia mall? I liked that mall when I lived there but at my weight rarely went as it was so huge to walk through.

Allie how was the date???

Cathy, speaking of dates, how have your dates been, still seeing the same guy???

Yep, we went to King of Prussia...I LOVE that place  It's the best. Congrats on what sounds like lots of great buys! We didn't make it to Gap or NY & Co. My new favorite store is Ann Taylor Loft. They have such cute clothes!!! I got a jacket there and it's a medium!! Who would have ever thought :cursing: I have the same leg issues...capri's have to be cut a certain way for them to fit my calves. It's frustrating. I bought a tankini from Lands End...I love their overstock section. You can get some really good deals. Off to get ready for Extreme Makeover and Desperate. Hope everyone has a great evening!

:crying:

Ann Taylor is my favorite, Loft or regular.

Funny yesterday I was at land's End overstock section of their website to order a tankini I saw there and IT WAS GONE!! I was so bummed. I didn't want to order it when I saw it as I had no idea of size. So I went to a Sears store here to try some Land's End on to know a size and came home to order it and poof, gone. I couldnt' find anything in that section yesterday. The regular price ones are so expensive. And the one I saw there a few days ago was even a Tall size. Guess I'll have to keep watching and hope more show up!

Oh Long, that sucks! What did it look like? I'm a tad bit Lands End Overstock section obsessed  Stuff disappears and then sometimes comes back. If I see it, I'll let you know. The one I got is green with white dots on the top and then just dots on the bottom...I guessed on the size and still haven't tried it (I figure I've got at least 6 weeks until bathing suit time :cursing:). Crossing my fingers that it will show back up for you!!

Good Morning Junies..

Wow it sounds like you got some great deals Long.. guess what... I bought a tankini.. I was so excited. I bought it in the juniors section. I love it! The only thing is my body looks great but my legs are not so great. Mine just have alot of saggy skin gross! I don't have larger legs but definetly problem with skin.. only on my legs and tummy... I have been looking at plastic surgery and I think I am going to go for a lower body lift.

I did some shopping with hubby and it was so fun! I bought some really really cute shirts. My hubby says I need to buy hot mom clothes not fat mom clothes so he says he is going shopping with me from now on! LOL.. it was a blast. I got some super cute stuff to! I even got a pair of size 12 jeans! I was strutting my stuff let me tell you.

I teach.. it is amazing how similiar our stories are. It really makes me wonder how many other people have endured something like this. I hate to say it really helps knowing that there are others like me who have survived it! Not that I would wish it on anyone. I think I have forgiven my father but forgiving my mother is really a different story. I guess I keep thinking I need her to take responsibility for everything and she keeps saying she did the best she could. I guess I have to come to terms with that. I still will never have a relationship with her. She is like being drowned in molasses. I can't breathe around her. Isn't that awful? She always makes me feel like a little kid and like a really bad little kid. She is not nor has she ever been a loving person. Oh well, Im not even going to get started .. lol.. it's monday and it's a beautiful day..

Our date was wonderful! We had dinner and then just holed up in our hotel room! It was like being newlyweds again.. we did some interesting things we haven't done in sooo long. I love that he can carry me and I can do things I haven't been able to do in a long time! It was amazing! I wish it was Valentines' Day every day!!! LOL.. The hotel was gorgeous!

We stayed until check out and then had company for dinner last night. We have always been "in love" and very affectionate with each other but now it's like we are kids again and so excited to see each other. I am sooo happy I got this band. I really think it gave me a new lease on life! I am a better, happier, healthier person and I love every minute of it!!!!

We never did make it to the pool, but I modeled my tankini and he loved it.. LOL..

Have a wonderful day you gorgeous Junies!!!!

Allie,

How wonderful for you:thumbup:. It sounds like your weekend was fantastic, a true second honeymoon.

Well all, I go this morning to the dr. and ask them why I am not losing, and why my port site hurts so bad. Wish me luck. I am trying to rehearse so I don't sound like a whine bag , just a concerned patient.

Hope you all have a great day, I can't wait to get to start shopping. Ya'll are making me anxious to go, I love to shop, and haven't really done any for awhile, wanting to lose more. You know break the 2's

Iteach, the tankini was black and white with like a swirlly pattern and the bottoms were just black. I will keep checking then for them to bring it back!! LOL

Allie, your mom sounds somewhat like mine. Not loving at all. In fact she told me once my entire life she loved me. And as my husband says, 'she just sucks the life out of you'. She's so negative and brings you down so much.

Addy, good luck at the dr. today! Anxious to hear why your port would hurt. Mine does once in a while but usually after a lot of crunches or something so figure it must be the muscle.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
