Trying to post before and during pictures. Can't figure out how to get them to show side by side, but at least they are attached.

The first picture is December 2006, second is last Saturday.

Hi Junies,

OK this is what NOT to do. I was running late this morning, so I skipped Breakfast. Had to meet my trainer for my first workout with him. I took a bottle of Water and he put me thru the motions. And he pushed! I was shaking like jello! lol And close to the end of the workout, i got very nausous and had to run and throw up. It was just water, but I learned we CAN throw up everything, at least water. Up to this point, I have only had a few 'slimers' but never could throw up anything from the bottom of my stomach. Well today I did! Sorry if this is TMI. Had to go to work after that, but i shut myself in the office and did paperwork. Could not see clients feeling like this. I had run to the bathroom 3x now and upchucked a bellyfull each time! Shakey, queasy, dizzy. Wonder whats going on? And I dont dare drink anymore right now. And food...fergit it! Maybe I can sleep it off this afternoon.

Whew! never felt like this before.

Hey everyone! It's been a crazy 9 or so days and while I've been on reading up, I haven't had time to post. Long, congrats on hitting 104!! Since I hit 101, it's been slow going. I'm at 102 now. Things have been really crazy, and I haven't been exercising like I should. I'm sure this has something to do with it  I'm so excited to read of everyone's successes! The pictures are great. When I got back and look at my monthly pics, it really helps me see how far I've come. I hope everyone has a great rest of your weekend!!

glad you are feeling better, strike! i have definately gotten sick (pre band) working out early in the day on an emtpy stomach. not exactly sure what is going on with that phsycially but i felt like you did and wound up taking a sick day that day.

you guys are kicking butt weight loss wise - way to go!!!!!! you must be so proud!! i can't wait to be just plain overweight! i just love that you've posted pictures!

i had the upper endoscopy test and my refill. she put back in what i had before the test but i couldn't swallow Water. so she took out 1cc and the water went down. i'm kind of low on fill level but at least there's some back in there!

the test went fine. i might have barretts esophagus from acid reflux but i really don't know. i just looked up what he told me ('abnormal z-line') and found out that that indicates barretts which is not really good but probably not too bad - he took a biopsy to be sure it was ok - don't know results but i'm sure i would if it wasn't good news. that and spasms and 'dismotility'. basically my esophagus is not happy right now. on medication for a month then go back and see how it's going.

i was happy he ok'd getting my band refilled! on liquids so far and that's working out ok.

the pain in my stomach is gone. just have pain up behind my breast bone and an irritated feeling that i think will subside with more time on the medicine.

happy sunday everyone!

Glad you are feeling better, STrike!!

Allie, where are you? Apples, still on vacation??

I have the scale jitters just like I did wanting to hit 100 lbs lost, now it's wanting to hit Onederland. I have 1.3 lbs to go. I keep weighing myself which I know isn't good but am just so anxious. Then I am going to have to settle down on the scale again. Then once I get below 200, can you believe I could have only as few as 20 lbs to go? My surgeon said anything under 180 for goal, though my 'normal' BMI is 169, so I will have 20 to 30 to go once I get below 200. WOOHOO!

My inlaws are coming for dinner tonight. I am cooking a buffalo prime rib. Never had buffalo before, it was given to us, so I hope it's good. It's MIL's birthday.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
