Hello all,

Good Luck on your run next Saturday Georgia. You must be pretty excited. You're gonna do great!

I've been keeping up with the running at least 3x's a week. I'm running for 30 minutes which ends up being about 2.5 miles. I'm slowly adding the speed. I would like to run the whole 3 miles in 30 minutes. I don't find myself winded at all after the run. I do kinda get pooped out though. My legs are heavy and just tired. I try to eat a banana before my run but I can't eat a meal and then run. It upsets my stomach.

Welcome NFaith, you're right this is a great thread. Lots of tips and encouragement.

Hi Everyone... hope you all are faring better than me with the Halloween candy! I'll admit... I've been weak!!! I also need a fill so badly, that its not saving me as much as I'd hoped. I've also gained a bit of weight instead of losing . Its my own fault. I've not been as dedicated the last 2 weeks. My head has been on the job instead. But, I'll get back at it. I took a nice long run today in the beautiful sunny fall weather. I loved it. Went about 3.5 miles. I think that's my longest yet.

Lynn... congrats on the house! Post pictures when you get them! Good luck also on the job opps.

Georgia... Just a week away from your run! I know you'll do great. Oh, and when you're thinking about the cold... just remember your Canadian friend, who runs in 28 F weather... I know it can't possibly be that cold in Georgia!!! LOL. Just wear layers that come off easily that you can tie around your waist while running.

Fanny... I agree with Lynn, any sex is better than walking. However, if you want to burn calories... "marathon" sex is probably better than anything! LOL... you go for it! You can always walk tomorrow.

Now off to burn some calories!!!!

Kathy....you're not the only one that has given in to the halloween candy! My son still has a ridiculous amount of candy and I'm very tempted to just throw it away. I find myself munching on it all the time....UGH!! I am getting back on track tomorrow. My eating has been terrible lately....I think I've gained some weight but I'm too chicken to weigh myself because I don't want to know. TOM is also here and that's not helping either. Oh, and the weather is much warmer now than it was last week. Not too cold and not too warm....perfect! I'm hoping it stays like this until Saturday because it feels great!!

I just wanted to give ya'll an update on Renewed. She overdid it on Thursday and was very swollen and tired on Friday. She's pretty much been in the recliner ever since. She is feeling much better today and the swelling is better too. She said she is going to take it easy for a while and probably won't be online much. Feel better girlie!

I just want to report that the Couch to 5km program has helped me have my best ever month of weight loss since the pre-op diet! I started seriously in mid-September and weighed in at 93kg (205lb) on 1 Oct, when I went into hospital for my tube fix. In the 5 days post-op, Fluid retention, swelling and Constipation saw my weight go up to 96kg (211.6lb). That came off and the weight has just been falling off me since - today I was 88.1kg (194.2lb)!! That's a loss of 17lb from the highest but I'm counting it as 10.8lb. I haven't lost over 10lb in a month since the pre-op!! YAY!!!

This program rocks! And I just have to say, having a new romance in one's life is the BEST motivation ever!

WTG Fanny!!

I went to the gym this morning and ran. I ran the full 5k at a speed of 4.5...took me about 41 minutes. I have never been able to run the full 5k outside but I am going to attempt it tomorrow. I will take Friday off but until then, it's full force!

I am back on track with my food! I am logging my food at TDP and I hope to drop some weight soon. I still didn't weight today. I'm terrified to see how much I've gained. I will probably weight tomorrow though.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Way to get back after it Georgia.

I am doing well. I am so bored. This sitting around thing is NOT FOR ME!! DH and I were talking alst night, and it is so funny. 1 year ago I would have loved to be able to just lay around, but I am goign nuts. It is time to get out!! Problem is, when I venture out for very long I swell up like a pumpkin and end up paying for it!! I go to the doctor on Thursday. She is goign to take the rest of my staples out (I hope). She said that after the staple are all out I can start walking at the track. SO.....maybe next week I can start my slow proccess towards running again. I am really recovering very well. I am just very impatient!! I know yall are all shocked!

Renewed, glad you are recovering so well. And yes, I am shocked that you call yourself impatient, lol!! JK. I do hope you get all the staples out so can get moving again. I would be miserable just laying around too! What a difference a year makes...

Keep resting, you're doing great!

Fanny.... WTG! Excellent progress. I agree, the C25k is amazing. My fitness level is so much better than it has ever been, all thanks to the program and everyone here for supporting me through it!

Georgia... Excellent time and speed. Good luck tomorrow on your outside run. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Renewed... YOU... IMPATIENT! NEVER! NOT POSSIBLE! LOL, JK. I'm so glad you're healing so well, but also glad you are forced to take it easy. You have the rest of your life to run... right now its rest time!

Ok, today I ate much better. I only binged a little on candy, but ate mostly good stuff. I didn't run today, but plan on getting up early to run before work. I want to get back on track with my eating so I can get to Onederland soon.

Well I'm off to get my much needed fill. I hope you are all doing great. I miss you guys.

Hello my C25K buddies! I have good news and bad news. I'll give you the bad first.

Bad news is, I finally mustered up the courage to weigh this morning and I gained 6 pounds!! TOM is still with me, so I hope the majority is due to that.

Good news is, I just ran a complete 5K outside!! WHOOO HOOOO!! It took me about 43 minutes and I think I was going a little slower than I normally run on the treadmill, but I DID IT!! The last time I tried to run outside I could only go for about a mile. I had to really focus on staying at a slow, steady pace and that really helped.

I really appreciate ya'lls support. I couldn't have made it this far without you guys. I remember my first day of the C25K. I couldn't even complete day 1. It amazes me how far all of us have come. Let's keep this up!!

way to go Georgia and Leslie!!!! I can't wait to be running again with you guys!! Don't worry too much about those pounds Georgia. They will come off!!

This is such an awesome thread. Even though I can't run I look forward to coming here to find out what's going on with everyone.

Things are still good here. I don't have anything exciting to report. Just sitting around doing nothing!!

Go Georgia, Go Georgia, WHOO HOO a 5k outside.

Leslie - WTG

I just bought "Gilad's Total Body Sculpting" DVD. I can't wait until it arrives. He is the guy from Fit TV.

I am so ready for my fill on Friday. I hope there are no issues after. We are taking DS and 4 of his friends to Dollywood in TN for his 12th birthday on Saturday. His BD is not until December 8th. To many things going on in December (Church, School, Christmas, basketball)

I can't wait to ride the rides. I won't worry about fitting anymore!!!!

Anyway, I am so close to losing 100 pounds and not to far from Onederland. A fill and exercise should do the trick.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
