banded 3 years and it has now failed......does anyone have info on warranty/guaranty

Hello...

I've had my band for 3 years now. I have lost 120 pounds. I have the most amazing surgeon and have been really blessed along this journey. Somewhere along the last 4 months i had complete loss of restriction. I went to see my Dr, after a few fill attempts, he noticed my band would not hold Fluid. We scheduled me for a port replacement which he did on tuesday 6/24, my band still would not hoild fluid, it was not my port. He then proceeded to do an endoscopy to rule out an erosion, which he did, it is not an erosion. My band has a bubble and is leaking out fluid. My surgeon says Allergan has to replace it. Does anyone have their paperwork and can tell me what the warranty on the device is? it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I can be emailed at:

vjoseph@interthinx.com

many thanks,

Vikki

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I didn't get any paperwork like a warranty with my band, I would think the doctor could help you with that? So if Allergen has to replace the band.... who pays for the surgery?

with all implantable devices the hospital is considered the vendor and must keep records of what device was implanted and the serial number, model number and manufacturer. This is federally mandated. Your hospital should be able to get you all the information needed. This is all part of SMDA, Safe Medical Device Act.

Oh no I am very sorry. I have looked all over online just now and I cant find information on the warranty. The other poster was right... Call the hospital.
