Healthier Weight v Chichester

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone - I continue in my search to find the right place to have my band surgery & aftercare.

I have now got it down between two places Healthier Weight in London or with Guy Slater in Chichester.

HW is much more expensive but the aftercare includes unlimited fills for a year, and it's at a private hospital. Chichester is cheaper, at the NHS hospital and includes 2 band fills in the first year. Does anyone have any experience or information of either of them?

Am considering consultations with both but you have to pay to see them initially, with the cost taken off if you book surgery. I am confused so any advice or information will be greatly received !!!!!!!!

Thanks katiex

Thanks for this Wendy - I am seeing him next week, I am pretty sure I will go with Chichester. Have they been good with the aftercare & support stuff?

Thanks

Katie

hi i was thinking of going with guy slater at chichester too, but the waiting list for privately paying yourself to stay in a nhs ward is 2 months, so thats put me off really, i wanted mine done within a month.

i dont know what the waiting list is to stay on a private bed.

I have been told 4-6 weeks, but just via email. I know what you mean, as I really want my surgery towards the beginning of the summer holidays because of childcare. I went for a consultation at Healthier Weight last week and they could do it the following week, so it's tempting. Although in the long run waiting another month and having the right surgeon and aftercare I reckon is the more sensible option....

Keep me posted on what you decide x

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
