Soft Stage Has Me In Knots

My doc has set me loose on "soft foods" and I'm at a loss. I've searched the forum, but have had trouble finding what I'm looking for. I'm getting mighty sick of eggs. I don't think about it until I get hungry and then it's too late to do any shopping or preparation of anything other than a small omelette. So I eat that and then forget about it until I get hungry again and then realize, "Oh yeah, all I have that I know for sure I can eat is eggs. Blech." And the pattern repeats.

Does anyone have any recipe ideas for this stage or is there a post already covering this someone can refer me to?

Thanks!

Yeah, the beef stew is definitely a winner. I had some last night over mashed potatoes. I'm planning to do a pot roast/beef stew in the crock pot which will be great for me and my dh loves it, too.

Casseroles are allowed on my food plan. I've had squash casserole for the past few meals.

Avocado, hummus and refried Beans have also been my saviors.

A couple of times I made a little mix with the canned chicken, refried beans, salsa or creamy salsa dip, low fat cheese and fat-free cream cheese. Yum! Another idea is the fat-free cream cheese, a little light ranch, canned chicken, hot sauce and low-fat cheese heated together - tastes like buffalo chicken wings. That's the allowed version of my favorite buffalo chicken dip.

V8 and tomato juice also curb my "appetite" when I want something salty. The 5.5 oz cans are perfect. I keep them in desk at work.

Why has my doctor told me not to have anything to drink 15 minutes before I eat and then an hour after... never with a meal? What's the purpose?

Liquid will wash the food right through your band and you will lose that full filling sooner.

You can eat mashed potatoes even instant. Baked chicken breast, and fish. yogurt basically everything that is tender and you chew well. Staying away from the obvious pasta rice fried etc. Season the meat to taste and put it in the oven. Slow cookers are great for meals , you can do meat potatoes and veggies.
