Well today two things hit me and it hit me hard. :huh2:

1. I realized my hair is a bit thin in places, well that is from the first few weeks post op. I know I wasn't getting my Vitamins and Proteins the way I should have. Harder then you think on a total liquid diet. But now, I am back on track so it should start coming back (HOPEFULLY before the hubby comes home I will have some growth back). Not gonna stress it cause it happens, not much you can do but make sure you get all your Vitamins and Proteins. Which I am.

2. (and this one is the worst) I got on my scale today and 3 lbs are back from the abyss. I know its because I am back on a full foods diet (well mostly, but I still have partial liquid and/or mushies at times) and my body is trying to hold on to it. Guess its time to up my 30 minute elliptical trip to 45. I mean I was expecting some weight gain back, before my fill but it still hurts.

Ok, that is my bitch for the day, I will get over it *counts*

Ok, not full over it but getting there. Like I said I was expecting both but hoping neither happened. Who knows maybe the 3lbs is a delayed ToM bloat ( wishful thinking I know) cause I didn't really gain on that first day of my ToM and I am on my last days now.

*deep breath*

Ok, I am done, not fully over it but hey what are ya gonna do ya?

:rolleyes2::cursing::thumbup::cursing::smile2::cursing:

Have you had any fills? Are you watching your calorie intake? Exercising? Are you finding yourself eating around the band? ie: ice cream, shakes, etc.

Have you had any fills? Are you watching your calorie intake? Exercising? Are you finding yourself eating around the band? ie: ice cream, shakes, etc.

The first 3 questions are answered in my original post darlin. No fills until 8 weeks post op (July 1st), I work out 30 minutes a day (going to boost it to 45) and I don't really count calories I just try to make the right choices, which I have been.

As for eating around it, no I don't.

I have yet to be banded but have been working with a trainer on my cardio. Sometimes, you dont need to increase the time you are doing the cardio just switch what you are doing. For example, I do cardio for 20 minutes in a pattern where I am going forward for 2 minutes with the resistance at 6 and the incline at 7 and then I go backwards for a minute with the resistance still at 6 but the incline at 4. According to my trainer my body is always switching up so it doesn't have time to get "used to" the routine. Hope that helps!

I know how you feel. I gained back almost 2 pounds this week and I hate it. I go for my first fill on Monday, so hopefully it will get better. I feel like I could eat as much as I want right now (even though I don't).

Well I am in physical therapy 3 days a week so I get the work out from the torture specialists. On my own, I am limited to just my elliptical on "easy" until my therapist gives me the go ahead to add more to it. He is hoping my joint test and my Cat Scan will come back good so I can up my home work out.

(before you ask, I have bad knee's and a bad hip (95% positive its weight bearing) and I have to go to PT to strengthen my muscles)

Pix hon, you're in band hell...I gained and lost the same freakin 4 pounds for weeks. It's so frustrating. I FINALLY (jumping with joy) got my first fill this past Friday (was banded in April) - and it kicked in yesterday. I weighed today and lost NOTHING in the past two weeks. I did notice that my fat % has gone down...I'm also blaming no loss to fluids from surgery on Friday. Hang in there! I did the same thing after getting on regular food - for weeks. Then one week - dropped six pounds overnight and didn't gain....it'll happen for ya (hugs)!!!

Froggi a pound is a pound! As long as the scale is moving down - that's great! At least you haven't gained anything. I hope you feel better!

Wowser on the elliptical, I still can't go past 5 minutes without thinking I'm going to die!!!

Patience.. Seems like forever away now, but pretty soon when you're good and filled, things will be right with the world ;o)

I couldn't get a fill for 6 months, I had a couple months of absolutly no weight change, 1 month of gaining a couple pounds.. and I still lost 100lbs in the first 12 months!!

I'll be happy losing a pound a week. Has anyone seen that commercial about losing 1 pound takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees?! That's what I think about when I only lose a pound!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
