1st Day of Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Today is the first day of my pre-op diet. And no the the Meal Replacement drink isn't exactly tastey but I am soooooo excited. I am so glad to really be started. I weighed this morning and I only gained 3 lbs on my goodbye food week (well actually two weeks). :)

Congrats to you on your diet, just think about what you'll look like at the end. I am on day 3 of the pre-op diet and it seems to be getting easier. I have already lost 6 pounds. Anyway, good luck to you with everything. When is your surgery? Mine is the 27th.:)

I am on day 5 of the two week pre-op liquid diet (surgery June 26th) and I am so excited to be this close to surgery!! At this point the liquids couldn't be easier, but I truly believe that is because I am so excited to be each day closer to surgery. I am getting 100 - 165 grams of Protein and I am not hungry at all.

Good luck to all of us Jazzy June and July bandsters!!

I am on day #2 of the pre op diet. Day #1 was really difficult for me since I had spent the last 3 months eating anything and everything!! Fortunately, I had the day off and spent it pretty much at home just allowing myself time to adjust to the idea of where I am at in the process!! Today is much better!! Going to buy a blender to keep at the office to help make the shakes more like a smoothie!!! I'll be happy to get to next week...and then bam, the 30th is surgery day!!

How exciting for all of us!!!

I still have six weeks until surgery, but I am finding that making myself say "I choose not to eat (fill in the blank), I feel stronger, smarter, sassier than when I say "Oh, I can't have (same blank here)"!

You all probably know that already, huh!

oh crap, 1st day & I cheated. I feel like I need just one more "eat anything I want" day. I think I'm goingto have a problem. Supposed to start a lo carb for 2 weeks & then 2 weeks liquid shakes. Surgery date is July 15. I hate myself right now.

Ok, so I see that I am not the only one that is having a hard time with the pre-op diet. I need to maintain my weight after losing 15lbs. by myself.(exercising 4xs per week and 2 Protein w/ carnation shakes per day) This is my 2nd day on the pre-op and I had more carbs than I need(candy pieces, 1c. popcorn, and 2 small slices of pizza!) I know its bad, but when they say its hard psychologically, that ish is no joke. I did better when I had more time, now the date is getting closer I feel like I need to eat while I can...I don't know what to do. Surgery day is July 1st and pre-admission testing is June 25th! I am just going to have to hit it hard tomorrow until D-day or go home!

Excuse the dumb question, but I need to start somewhere. I see some places have their own pre-opt drinks to buy. If you are going to Mexico, what kind of shakes can you buy. Just any that are high Protein? She said she could probably get me in, in 2 - 3 weeks. If not, then I will have to wait as Im going on a cruise and need to get thru that 6 week post op before I get on the cruise ship. They said then after the cruise I could get the first fill.

So should I start the shakes or high Protein Drinks now. Just liquid or can I have other stuff prior to the surgery. I havent found the thread explaining what Im exactly supposed to be having if I have the surgery in 2 - 3 weeks. I turned in the application last night and she acted like she would know by today, but I havent heard anything.

day 3 of pre diet, I am having a hard time. I had 5 chips with dip. Is that bad? I am worried that it will affect the surgery!?! I will do better tomorrow. My date is Wednesday June 25, 5 days from now. I can't wait

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
