Newbie being banded in June!

Just wanted to come out of hiding and say hello to my soon-to-be fellow bandsters.

My surgery date is set for June 20th. It didnt' take long (5 weeks) to meet with all the necessary requirements and got the ok from my insurance within 5 days!

I am nervous but very anxious to have it done. I am dreading the 2 week pre op diet of Optifast, but hey, that's what this is all about.

Good luck and best wishes to you all! I won't be "lurking" anymore,

I'll actually be posting and looking forward to hearing from you!!

Oh you are so lucky! Congratulations. Mine will end up taking almost 5 months and I am self pay!! Of course the last month is my problem but my schedule wouldn't allow for a June banding.

Good luck! You have lots of support here.

The little advice I can offer when it comes to doing the liquid diet is to find a good shake that is tasty. Low in carbs and sugar and is kinda thick to keep you feel. Follow with some water and you should be find. And always trust your feelings when you think your full.

Thanks for the advice. Any advice is great appreciated. I hate to say, but right now, I'm enjoying all the things I won't be having for quite along time! But, I need to stop soon. Saturday starts my pre op Optifast! :cursing:
