Anyone from Richmond, VA and banded?

I am going through the process of my 6 month diet, etc to get approval for my lap band. Just curious if there is anyone else from the area who has been banded or working their way through insurance approval to be banded and what surgeon will be doing their surgery?

    I am being banded in Richmond on 7/2/2008. I started this journey about six months ago with VCU. I am going through Dr. Maher and so far it has been a great experience. I live about two hours from Richmond (Lexington).

    Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any help. I did not have to do a six month diet (per my insurance). The only requirement was BMI.
