I have had several great NSV!

Got blood work back...

Blood Surgar ... Normal (I am a diabetic)

Cholestrol... Normal

And doctor wants me to take a 1/2 dose of blood pressure medicine and maybe get off completely very soon!

My foot no longer swells up on long days of running around.

I can cross my legs!!!

I can easlie fit into a movie theater seat (no stress)!

My bath towel can wrap all the way around me.

Do any of y'all ever put your hand on your hip, scratch your shoulder or touch yourself anywhere else and it doesn't feel right? Like you can feel bones where you have never felt them before? I am having to get use to the new me. Lovin it... but it is strange sometimes!!

I haven't figured out if this is a good NSV or not. Since I have lost the weight I am no longer hot all the time. I haven't owned a jacket or coat in over 10 years. Well, now I am cold all the time. It is wonderful not being hot all the time but now that I am cold my knees hurt. Since it has been so cold here in Reno, NV I should expect it. It will sure be nice during the summer. I do not tolerate hot weather at all.

I lowered my steering wheel. It is no longer on tilt!

I finally fit into a jacket that I had gotten @ 1 of the places I used to manage. I never was able to wear it. They had also given my a heavier coat. I can now pull it down over my boobs! Before I couldn't get it down over my shoulders. It was a smaller size than the jacket. I have had these coats for 4 yrs.

Doing the happy dance:Dancing_biggrin:

Tried on a dress that I´ve been saving. It´s a size 18/20 buttons down the front, and it fit like a dream! Also am wearing size 22 jeans now, which is amazing, as I hadn´t worn jeans in about 15 years!

Thank you so much! I needed a pick me up. Not been able to do my usual exercise regime, because they diagnosed me with mono, and was told to take it easy. SO, this milestone made me very happy!

OH! Just thought of something. I have been off pop since 1/16/08. That was the night I went to my PreSurgery Seminar. I was a total pop addict, if I can give it up, ANYONE can.

my nsv for today, its more of a confidence thing...yesterday we went to disneyland. even when i was bigger, i would always try to brainwash myself into thinking that i didn't care what others thought about me. deep inside i did. i would be embarassed to go out to public places like those, thinking that other people were thinking "what is that skinny guy doing with that cow?" well, i have to say, i had the most fun ever yesterday with my husband, and didn't EVER think people were judging me! i love the pictures we took, ill put them up soon, and from looking at them, i can't believe how far i've come. its one of the best feelings in the world...

Congrats, Kiki!!!

My latest NSV: Today, I went to a really big mall about an hour from home and me, my hubbby, son, bf and her kids all walked around for HOURS! Everyone was complaining about being tired and thier feet hurting....but not me. I wasn't tired or in any sort of pain. A few months ago, I wouldnt have been able to do that!

Second best thing that happened today- In Macy's I picked up this super cute leather jacket in a Large. It was teeny. I figured I'd try it on to see how much further I had to go before it would fit. Well, guess what!?! It not only fit, but buttoned and looked nice too! If it werent for the $300 plus price tag, I wouldve worn it all the way home! LOL

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
