Saddened By Cigna

Recommended Posts

Mtanna, Thank you so much for the encouraging words...I really needed them. I have 3 docs that are writing me letters (obgyn, podiatrist, PCP) The PCP wrote the letter a month a go and it was wonderful. Now Cigna is requiring 24 months of history, so I have my appt with him tomorrow to see if he will research back 24 months. I have yo yod so much that I am sure there will be a month or two that I was below 35 BMI....not sure. I received a response from someone that went thru everything with Cigna and was denied...she had the same BMI and similar co-mobidities....I know everyone is different...I just pray Cigna sees that this is my only chance of having a long life with my young children.

Congrats on your approval....I am sure all the hard work will be worth it. Sept 10th will be here faster than you can imagine. Have you had all of your pre visits?? Nutritionist, Trainer etc?

Kimberly

Hi Holly,

You appear to have more 'problems' than I did and I was approved. Just keep on them, basically don't take no for an answer. If they deny you the first time, then ask them why over and over and over (Call everyDAY!!, I called twice a day). I know this is the scary part, having your future in someone elses hands but thats just it, its YOUR future and you have the right to fight for it. You pay your premium every month so fight them if they deny you... Also, remember more than likely they WILL deny you the first time (maybe), this is just Cigna's way of trying to get you to give up so don't...!!! Promise me you won't!

I had my surgery Sept. 10th and its a blessing. I really hope you get this...I wish you all the best!

Everything is going and did go perfectly. Never had one day of trouble. I had 2 days of feeling uncomfortable from the gas they put in your stomach but other than that, I was up and around the day after.

Feel free to contact me anytime before and after your surgery. I've learned alot just in the past (going on) 3 weeks. Keep me posted as well...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
