I ditto Phyl's comments to everyone. Linda - $1,000 win - yippee

Julie - I leave for Guam on Nov. 1st and have lots to handle before I leave. 43 yr. old son moving from Nevada to K.C. and will arrive next weekend. Want to help him get settled before I leave.

Jodi - great plan of exercise.

Arlene - congrats to Jakob.

I went shopping yesterday and today and spent too much money - but was wearing an outfit I've not had on for 4 years. I was afraid to try it on -- but it fits. yippee

However, I need the fill that is on Tuesday next week. To improve restriction.

Joyce...congrats on fitting into the outfit. Now remember, just cuz you are going on vacation you still need to continue with your new found food plan:thumbup:

Apples - great to see you back here. Seems like you were gone forever.

I'll take your support with me to Guam, and feel, after the fill, my choices will take me back to the right track. The hotel has room service and I discovered in Florida and Las Vegas that the right items are available for we banders (when traveling). pacificislandclub.com

BTW - I bought my first Coach bag yesterday. Love it. Had planned to check them out in LV, but didn't work out. Needed just the right size and color for Guam.

LauraK - we love hearing about a new man in your life. Like reading a romance novel - step by step.

Hi all...read all your posts...sounds like everyone is doing great, I love that you all respond so well to each other!

I went to the Oakridge Festival today its like a craft thing in the woods, and walked and walked..bought a few things, had chicken off the grill for lunch, ate only a little and was full. When I came home, of course puppy wanted out, so I walked him, as I started to turn at the corner of my block, I thought--lets make it two, so I headed down to the next corner and came back around, two blocks tonight after walking all day. Had a Burger King $1.00 side salad for dinner, with some chicken breast on it. Feeling good. Need to get that Pedometer still, but I'd bet I walked 10000 steps today-my hips ache a bit, but gonna do it again tomorrow.

Congrats on the Casino win- Thats GREAT!

Peascorps-sounds like you had a wonderful day with your little one! My daughter took her little ones to the Orchard today and did about the same thing.

Thanks ALL for you kind words of encouragment!

Gonna take a bubble bath, get in my jammies and read--the hubby got me a book of short stories by Grisham -Ford County- a very sweet card and a pumpkin spice candle for sweetest day--hes learning--no candy for this gal. LOL

May you ALL have a peaceful evening!

Kimberly

Hey Kimberly...welcome to the thread. I hope you continue to stick around for support. It's nice to be with a group of ppl that understand what we are going through.

Hope you enjoy the John Grisham book. I read it a couple of weeks ago. I am usually not a short story person but these were pretty good. I love his books.

YAY Apples! I am glad you are back! You too Joyce......and the smaller outfit....congrats!

I just put together the new Lysol hands free soap dispenser. Oh boy, now the G-kids will surely wash their hands once they pass their hand across it.

Oh, Apples, I ordered the PB2 from Netrition. I also got a couple of cases of my favorite Protein bar......Light Muscle Milk Peanut chocolate caramel....a good price too 14.95 for twelve.

Janet, that is a good score considering you don't bowl very often. My DH and I met bowling. We were on a teenage team together. We bowled in a few leagues together. He wanted to be a professional bowler. His average was always over 200. We haven't bowled in years since all our joints and backs went south. I would be lucky to bowl a 50.

Goodnight Y'all !!!

Apples2 is back!!! Decided I'm not giving up my power to ANYONE.

Laura...sounds and looks like fun was had by all today. Such a nice photo of you and Nels together. That will make DH smile!...

OK...I missed some of you...so sorry. Will check back later. Nice to be back. (like it was soooooo long)....No one junking up your thread.

Apples~ I couldn't sleep and decided to get up and just see what was going on. Your post was like music to my ears! :thumbup:You never want to let anyone take your power. Glad you are doing your thang! :woot:Nels was afraid to get on the bus after that incident and I told him, don't let that bully know he got to you! I even said, it's someone who doesn't feel that good about himself to steal. Nels went on the bus with head held high and even made a decision on his own to be NICE to the kid. He was shocked that the kid turned into the quiet one suddenly! Thanks for the comments- we had a great day today. Weather was PERFECT!

Gonna try and go back to bed:sleep2:........TTYL peeps...peas

Apples - so glad to see you back. We drove down to a farming community just south of Springfield to drop DH’s deer off at the butcher. We have butchers here of course but he likes this particular butcher and it gives him an excuse to see his friend, who happens to be a farmer too. Weather has been treating him well too. He was busy but found time to go to dinner with us. It was a very fun, impromptu getaway. DH decided Friday morning to drive the deer down there and called me at work to let me know. A half an hour later I called him back and said how about if Charlie (my dog) and I come with you. I knew Charlie would just love being able to run on so much land. We just have a regular sized city yard 60x80. I called the motel to be sure that Charlie could come and they said ok. We brought his crate with so we could leave him to go to dinner. We all had a great time. Charlie was hysterical; he was just in heaven with all of the freedom. This was the first time he has ever been off leash outside of our yard. His exuberance was a joy to see. We even took him back in the wooded area and he went crazy with all of the different scents of animals. DH will go back down in a couple of weeks, when he has his vacation from work, and hunt by his friend. He can pick up the deer at that time. I will drive down for the weekend at that time to see hubby and spend time with our friends. His friend’s wife and I started planning for our next visit. She wants us to stay at the house but HD and I both prefer to stay at the motel. We never want to impose and while her offer is gracious, we turned it down. Heck, we want to visit, not move in.

Joyce, I looked at the link. The trip looks awesome. A swim though aquarium? Too cool. I hope you have a great time. If I remember right, don’t you have family there? Congratulation and fitting into your outfit. That is the best feeling in the world to fit into something you haven’t been in for a long time. You go girl.

LauraK, the miles always go by faster when you have someone to talk to. Glad you enjoyed your day.

Charlene, Good luck to Jacob showing his steer today!

Cheri, Your advice is very common sense and is quite good. I don’t know about everyone else here but over the years I had gotten so sedentary that I could not do most of the things on your list. Go on the park equipment? I couldn’t fit before. Sad, but true. It seems to be a vicious cycle, as you gain weight; you get more sedentary so you gain even more weight. The good news is, I managed to break the cycle and I can do those things now. It saddens me to think about all of the time I missed not being able to do things. I am ever so grateful for where I am right now. I am not at goal but I have the ability to do fun things again and truly enjoy them instead of sitting on the sidelines.

1 day, sorry you had such a scary experience. It may be best to start putting out applications; it doesn’t seem that this is a good fit for you in many ways. It doesn’t hurt to keep looking; after all you have this job now to fall back on until you find something better. Good luck.

Good Morning....

Laura...hope you got back to sleep. Perfect sleeping weather here. Had not turned the furnace on yet. Cold when we get into bed but nice and cool for sleeping. Down in the 30's overnight. Hit the heat button on the thermastat this morning to take the chill out.

Woke up to the phone VERY early. One of DH's buddies was working all night out in the feild and was stuck...DH is still over there trying to pull him out. One of the joys of farming.

Sandy....loved your story about Charlie having the best day of his life. Our Tanker has that every day. He's a lucky dog. We tend to take for granted what we have at our finger tips. You and DH revel in the fact that you can take a trip and go out to the country. I, on the other hand, look forward to getting off the farm to see real people. City mouse country mouse????

Joyce.......your resort looks wonderful. I am working on finding a place to take DH to for our 31st anniversary (Nov 10). All depends on this harvest. I cannot remember a year that we were done by that time but this might just be the one. Will most likely shoot for the weekend of the 13th for the reservation just to be sure we are done. Hope you have a great time with your family.

It's a working day here so better get after it. I love harvest time and all the action in the yard. Love the guys that are hauling and running the machinery. Most are single and young. Last night they each had a dozen banana muffins and a plate of toffee bars on the seat of their trucks to take home. We worked till 10:30 so I am thinking they were dipping into their goodies on the way home.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
