Any TT paitents have belly button problems?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am very curious to know if I am alone in this belly button problem or has anyone else ever had this happen?

I tore, ripped and just plain messed up my belly button 3 weeks out now from my Tummy Tuck. Anyone else every do this? I am waiting anxiously from a call from the Dr but I am nervous as hell.

What causes this and what do they do? It looks horrid!

This can happen occasionally. It may be that you "pulled" it by moving too rapidly or stretching. It may also be because of improper healing of the belly button which may have a compromised blood supply (especially if you had a small umbilical hernia or if your bariatric surgeon used your belly button as a entry point during the lap band). Either way, it should be OK. Speak with your doctor, but he will examine you and may tell you to just let it heal, as long as there is no active bleeding or infection. He also may suggest a few stitiches to help it heal faster.

The reality is that the belly button is just a big scar from where your umbilical cord was. It will probably heal well, and you may not even notice that there was a problem - aside from a few weeks of dressing changes.

Any scarring that develops can always be fixed after you are completely healed about 6 months later.

Boo - I haven't had any problems with my belly button but it is the last to heal. I still have a couple little scabs on it and its ugly. The ps said it'll go in when the scars soften so I'm hoping they soften soon. When I went to my band dr he looked at it and said - ew that looks angry. LOL I think he was meaning that it was still tender looking but I think it looks angry cuz its so ugly! I'm rubbing cocoa butter and vit.E on it several times a day - trying to get it to look nice and pretty.

I had mine done twice, once in )ct 2006 - then secondly for the mid abdomen in June 07. The second one gangrened and died - got VERY infected. It had to be debrided an dpacked for 3 months - wnet about an inch deep. It finally filled in but no belly button.

don't let it go. It will get infected and get numb. Not good. Mine was well taken care of - died anyhow.Get it treated.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
