My post is going to sound a lot like the others above me...

I am working out 3 days a week (as of Monday it's going to 5 days/week) and I am just not losing on the scale!

At my last fill appointment me and the doctor decided not to give me another fill because I was getting full fast and food was getting stuck. Of course it seemed that no sooner than me walking out of his office that all changed. I swear I can eat ANYTHING again and there are moments that I do (stress or social situations being the main times).

So...I go on Tuesday for a check with him and I'm hoping for a fill again and a good kick in the pants to get me back on track...not to mention maybe a small move in that darn ticker below!!! I can't wait to see that thing really start ticking away :rolleyes2:

Here's to all of us as we struggle through. I know and we all know it will get better but it's so hard!!!! That's why we are here for each other!

I am having the same problem, one day I am too tight and the next I can eat everything.

down 36 pounds since May 19, 08 slow but sure had my first fill on 9/8- pretty easy and slowly eatting things and have learned to stop eating when I get that almost full feeling- I love my band- today an old male friend of mine sent me an email saying congrats on the weightloss, soon you will be a slim trim fox, however you were always a fox to me no matter what you weighted god I love that man!

keep fighting the good fight people we can do this.

Hi all,

I hit the 170's this past weekend. I am so excited. It's a slow process but at least it's coming off. Prior to being banded, I was continuously gaining weight. I brought a size 12 shorts and they fit. YEA!!!!!!!!

I am feeling great. :redface::thumbup::)

I feel like I've been losing extremly slow the past month- I'm down 43lbs and very happy with the loss so far...

I know I need to work out every day and now that my gym at work is up and running again (It's been under construction and now we have all new equipment!) - I'm on the road to "recovery"! LOL

Hi Everyone!! I haven't posted for a while.... My weight loss was at a stand still until very recently. The good thing about the band is that if I were at a plateau this long without it, I may have given up!!! This seems to be what my pattern has been in the past...lose a few, feel good, try to lose more, plateau, give up.

With the band, you really can't give up!!! I am still restricted, so I can't eat large quantities of food. Also, stress eating is not possible anymore. It just isn't a pleasant feeling to reach for food when I am stressed because 9 times out of 10 it will get "stuck"!!!

For all of you who are feeling like you will never lose, keep trying!!! My loss has been slow, but the weight is gone FOREVER!!! Keep your thoughts positive and forge forward.

All the best!!!

Way to go everyone!!!!

Looks like the May people have really been taking care of business. I have not been as diligent in my workouts this summer. Worked 4 jobs and had 3 classes this summer. I have 3 classes this fall and cut back to 2 jobs. Hopefully that will help me in my workouts. I have been walking but not faithfully. I have been eating pretty well on target, drinking my Protein Shakes, stopping when I am full. Have had a few times when things get stuck. I am learning to really chew well. I bought a bathing suit and joined the pool near my house. Found out when the lane swimming and Water aerobics are. Will do weights and cardio the other days. I have penciled workouts on my calendar. Things have been kind of slow for me in the weight loss dept but not really surprising. I had a kink in my tubing in the original surgery but it is fixed now. I have had a few fills and going for another one in two weeks. I'm really starting to feel like I am close to the sweet spot. I booked a cruise over New Years so hopefully that will be motivation for me. Keep up the good work everyone, caminco

Surgery date: May 9, 2008 10 cc band

Fill date June 10, 2008

Kink in tubing-no fill

Surgery date to fix the kink: July 17, 2008 2cc fill during surgery

Fill Date: August 12, 2008 0.8 cc

Fill Date September 16, 2008 0.8 cc

Fill Date October 14, 2008 ?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
