Is this feeling full or is band too tight?

Recommended Posts

OK, I had a fill (2nd) 4 days ago. At first I couldn't eat anything and you very helpful people told me about swelling (thank you!). Now, I can eat, but after just one or two bites I feel TOO FULL. It is like the sensation you have (before banding) when you really overeat and you feel like it is all the way up in your chest. I feel like I really need to burp, but I can't. Also, I can barely drink. Only a sip at a time and it seems like even a tiny sip "blows" my stomach up (or so it feels). So...is this what it feels like to have proper restriction or am I too tight?

Well how much did you get put in? I've been told they only put 1cc in so if they did that you shouldnt have that much resticition already, also have you been on the liquids for 2 days afterwards? I've heard multiple accounts about people being on liquids for the first couple of days afterwards. Also it may just be you getting used to the band, leave it for about a week and if you still feel the same then I would definetly suggest going back and getting an unfill, at the moment they probably won't do anything as you've only recently had it and they will most likely tell you to just come back in a week. Hope I helped

If it's already been 4 days, it does sound like you are a teenie bit tight. My doctor and dietician said that when you have proper restriction you should be able to eat 7-10 bites of food.. and you shouldn't feel stuck with water.. at the restriction I'm at right now, this is what I can achieve and I'm not miserable. It sounds like your body is going to be deprived with the little you are eating and drinking.. you don't have to be miserable like this. If it's still like this in the next few days I would seriously just have a little bit taken out.

I had 3cc put in originally (one month after surgery). Then Last Thursday (2nd month) he put in 1.5cc. With the original 3cc I really didn't feel restriction unless I ate fast. This 1.5cc has made a difference! The main thing I am worrying about is the fact that I can't drink! I'm serious, a sip takes FOREVER to go down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
