Last night I was playing around and dancing with my 7 year old daughter, when all of the sudden she stopped, gasped and said "Mommy, you've lost weight!" I love that kid:)

That is so cool! Doncha love it? Pat's right, you daughter is proud of you. And so are we!!

My daughter said to me a while back that I was "medium" (as opposed to "huge"). Daddy's the biggest one in the family now, and all is right with the world. :)

And then, of course, there is my son. When he was five, he came in absolutely heartbroken because one if his little friends would never ever have a fat mamma.

I haven't been banded yet..but I have been viewing lots of before and after photos and amazed at how different people look after losing 50 to 120lbs or so. My daughter, age 10, doesn't want me to have the surgery. She is so scared that I won't be the same mom she has had.:) She does want me to be happy and healthy but she will miss all the cushiony bumps and lumps.

Robyn:)

I get my best fashion advice from my kids.

My 11yr old dosen't want me to lose weight either, she likes the fluffy me. I guess I'm like that well worn sofa, you still love it spots and all.

I can attest (my mom had GBypass a year ago) that I had a "fluffy mom" all of my life! I am actually the one that suggested the bypass to her (I didn't know about lap band). Although I had never known my mom skinny and I do miss her fluffy hugs (very comforting as a child and adult) I can tell you that I am so very glad she has lost the weight so now I can hug her for years to come. Had she not lost the weight, I would not have been surprised if she had died.

Your children will love the fact that you are around for YEARS longer by losing the weight. I for one would rather have the hugs period rather than the fluffy hugs. Although, I always have memories. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
