Anyone ever had their port move? Mine is now over my left ribs, two months out of surgery, and it is not a good spot. When I breathe which I do frequently, it hurts.

Can they just smooch it back over or is it a surgery? Advice please!

The port is stitched to your abdomen muscle. Did you do something that caused it to move? Ouch! Yes, you need to breathe freely. I think that I heard that sometimes they do have to go in and fix ports but that it isn't a big deal. It is another surgery though. I would contact your Dr. asap and get into have it checked out. Yeah, that doesn't sound good. It was also my understanding that it is sutured to the muscle wall of your abdomen. Unless they put it where it is now, it sounds like it has become loose. That should be the fault of the surgeon unless you did something really crazy. Even still though, it seems like it'd take alot to rip it free and even if you did you'd probably would have been in serious pain. I am not an expert though, but I'd still tell your doctor and I would be really ticked if he made you pay for the correction!

CALL THE DOCTOR A S A P!!!!!!! It's supposed to be anchored down with stitches. Your stitches have come loose. Yes, this will need to be corrected.
