Help, does anyone know what is the best bet for cottage cheese thighs? Is there a natural way (exercise or lotions) that can help with the appearance?

I've lost enough weight that I want to wear shorts, but hellllooooo *cottage cheese thighs* are attention grabbing and they are gross. They are bumpy ALL the way around the top of the thigh and I am very self conscious of them.

Tanning helps with the appearance a little, but I worry about the long term affects....I've also tried self tanning sprays, lotions etc and end up with orange spots in obvious places and it's scary.

"Cottage cheese thighs" usually indicates the presence of cellulite. Cellulite is not lumps of fat, as most people commonly think. Rather, it is a result of bands of tissue that connect the skin to the deper layers, resulting in dimpling of the skin and fat. This is difficult to correct but can be improved with careful liposuction by a qualified plastic surgeon.

The best correction may be a lift procedure - if the "cottage cheese" is improved as you pull you thighs upwards with your hands, than this is what you can expect after a thgh lift.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to correct and there is no clinical evidence that any topical lotions or creams will reduce the appearance. Some work is being done with lasers, although they require weekly treatments, can be quite costly, and have nto demonstrated significant results. As you say, be careful with tanning because the temporary improvement you may see should not outweigh the risk of skin cancer.

Mine improves when I pull it up too. I'm quite thin now but still have it, its just part of being female and 40 I think.

I'm not sure I would go to such an extent as a body lift to cure it, when nearly everyone has some anyway. The lucky people that dont have cellulite tend to be more apple shaped people, and then they have other figure problems that I dont have to fight, so we all have our good features to show off. I just stick my chest out and hope nobody is looking at my bum, lol!

Tanning does help it to look better, but please fake it. I'd rather have cellulite than skin cancer and look like I'm 100 years old at 40.

As the queen of "cottage cheese" thighs, all I can say is that I am so thankful for capris, skimmers and bermuda shorts!!

Yes, If I lay on my back and put my legs in the air, they look GREAT! LOL

When I pull them up, they look good too, so I guess I just have to wait until I can get some PS! Until then, I'll bermuda it...(I love my butt still though, so it's so sad I can't show that with short shorts....LOL)...and the most important thing is that my husband loves it all (he's obviously quite blind) and that's important! Yes I too stick out my DDD's and usually that distracts, but only as long as I have a very good bra on! Man getting older sucks, I used to have it all....now....not so much.:)

Mischievous, if you lay on your back and put your legs in the air, I dont think anyone's going to be looking at your thighs!

Isnt that called dressing to make the most of your assets?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
