Any May Realize bandits out there?

Recommended Posts

I was banded 5/5/08 with the realize band. And at first I was doing OK. Not any more. I am hungry all the time and unemployed. So I am stressing on losing weight, not beinging hungry and trying to find a job. I hope I get my first fill tomorrow. I have been at the same weight for a month. The last time I saw my Dr. he said to exercise more. That does not make you not hungry. So I called and talked and begged his nurse to get me a fill, so its tommorrow I HOPE.

Kalalilly,

I am surprised that they didn't let you schedule a fill yet. But if you were losing I could understand, even with 1 pound a week I bet they wouldn't fill. I'm almost 3 weeks out from my first fill 4.6 and while it doesn't seem like much I am losing the 1 pound per week. Bad me without exercising like I should. My job is pretty physcial with lifting and walking so that must help. I get full easy with alot less than I used to eat. I'm lucky I drink Protein Water or Fiber water and that does hold me longer I think. Good luck on your fill.

Hey all, I finally got my first fill. 2.5 cc's. He had to stab me two times because my port tilted. It wasn't too bad though. I yelled just to tease him. I had gained 1.5 lbs since the last time I saw him. I told him I was getting hungry the last time I saw him, that's why he gave me the 2.5 cc's he was only going to give me 2. It feels much better not being hungry. I already can feel a difference and I hope it lasts for a while.

Kalalilly,

Enjoy your new found sense of full. I really have to eat slowly to let my stomach catch up with my head. I still cannot "eye" my portions when I go out to eat. I haven't PB so I feel I'm doing okay.

I am getting a 2nd fill on Thursday next week. I had a bit of restriction after my first but I can honestly eat an entire bean burro no problemo...as in a huge portion....I am not always hungry until I start to eat and then down it goes,,,yummy and all...

I hope this next fill helps.....I do not think I have lost that much since my last fill...I have lost 50 since I started getting ready for the band so that it why my ticker is where it is....

Oh, I am not even scab free yet! I still have a tiny one on my port scar! and I am not exercising because 2 weeks ago, I broke my foot and am in a walking boot...just getting around is an effort...so

Good Luck you all! Shelley

WOW, another fill I am somewhat chicken of another fill. I had mine 7/11 4.6cc. I'm afraid of PB'ing. I haven't yet. That why I think I'll stay at this fill for as long as I can. I thought I would be more agressive with fills but found out I'm not. The first few days after the fill I was unsure of how I felt. Wondering if I would be able to keep things down. Always did probably cause I was real careful. Now not so much. Good luck on you next fill.

I know what you mean Sue...but I think I do need just a little more...Last Saturday, I had steak, grilled veggies, a bit of bread...and NO problem..now, it is good I could eat that but...I could eat more than I think I should and it tasted soooo goood...so, not that I want to PB but I think I have little restriction at this point...I will be good following the fill and be very careful cause I get scared too!

Good news is, I went to the foot doc and he says maybe in 2 weeks I can go back and exercise...yea!

Went for my second fill today...I had lost 5 lbs of fat she said! Pretty good, I think, considering I've had a steroid shot and can't exercise with a broken foot!

NOw of course, I am on Clear liquids for 3 days....torture...but hopefully my fill will squash the amount I had begun to eat!!!

So, best advice for execise...if close to the 101 in Peoria, join Inches a-weigh...that is what I love doing and it made a huge difference for me! bics...I can't wait to go...

Smile, Shelley

Hell I work off the 101 in Peoria. Will look into it. Again time to get my ass in gear. Differrent doctors cause mine only required liquids (not clear) for 24 hours after a fill.

Saw my reg doctor 4 weeks ago and just yesterday down 4 pounds. I wished for more but....I haven't been exercising. He wasn't a fan of WLS but I'm giving him a different look at the lapband. Maybe make it easiler for another patient of his.

Definitely look into Inches - A - Weigh......the owner of my "salon gym" knows the Peoria one, so if you nee help finding it let me know...I know I saw it once...my Mom lives in Westbrook Village and I was out shopping...I think I saw it by Fashion Bug or so??? I can not remember...anyway, I LOVE the type of non weight bearing exercise...and it targets hard spots and really does help your core muscles...which is why I had to wait for the port to heal...as for cardio, mine has an eliptical, treadmill, and encumbrant...ok spell that one right?...bike... I never did much of any of that! Plus, they weigh you weekly and help with food choices...even with being banded that would help...just tell them about your band...that you eat differently...good luck! Shelley

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
