Hi there! I was dx'd with PCOS about 10 years ago here. I've been on and off Metformin ever since then. UGH. I stopped taking it a month ago when I finally decided I was a go for this. It never really did anything for me anyway unless I was taking fertility meds (like Clomid) to go with it. HATE the stuff!!! If you haven't been on meds yet, I wouldn't worry about it IMHO.

As for doing anything different, I'll be looking for the advice of others on that too, especially since I haven't been banded yet.

Ashlee,

Congratulations on being recently banded!!

I have PCOS too...diagnosed 10 years ago, but had symptoms at puberty.

I don't think there is anything you need to do different. I had taken metformin for 10 years and stopped after my surgery.

With PCOS it is harder to lose weight because of the hormones. I noticed this at first and became frustrated that my weight loss was not faster. I had to kick up the exercise to get the weight loss going.

You are going to do great!
