Cost of an adjustment!!!

Hi everyone:

I am very surprised at the cost of adjustments in the offices around my home! I got banded in Mexico by a wonderful Dr. However, due to the new "problems" with the new requirements for US re-entry, I cannot go to my doctor for adjustments anymore.

I started looking for a doctor that would do adjustments here in the Los Angeles California area and ohhhhhh my GOSH!!!

The first few places that I called, would not even look at me since I got banded in Mexico. But the others that would look at me charge average of $400.00 to $500.00 dollars for the consultation alone and then in addition the cost of the adjustment which ranges between $900.00 and $1,000.00!!!!!

Please tell me that I am looking in the wrong places and there is somewhere else better where I can get an AFFORDABLE adjustment with the option of fluoro around my area???? I refuse to believe that this is going to cost me sooo much.

Any help, ideas, thoughts will help me a great deal.

Thanks youall

Celia

If your in LA, there are options in Tijuana that are not too far and very affordable.

It would definitely be worth getting a passport because local convenience is really going to hit you in the wallet. Or perhaps you are just referring to the 2+ hour wait in stand still traffic which is just ridiculous but unfortunately unavoidable.

I was booked for surgery in Mexico...told I would have no problems getting fills here...however, 2 weeks before I was to leave, I called the place that Dr. Kuri had told me would do my fills...they informed me that, sure they would do my aftercare..for $6000.00.

I just about died, called a few more places, and realized they were all going to charge a fortune, and ended up just being banded locally, even though the initial cost was more then Mexico, I ended up saving in the long run.

Were you told you could get fills/after care here cheaper before you went?

Dr. Rojas....$365 for the first and I think it's 165 for each subsequent visit. That includes an adjustment!

Hope that helps.

(much cheaper than those around here!)

Grrrrr...

I was not told that it would be cheap, but I also did not expect it to cost me an arm and a leg. I should have done a little bit more homework.

Thanks for the quick reply...

I did see Dr. Rojas already. He doesn't offer fluoro and last time I went to his office to try to have him do my adjustment, he could not find my port and it was not pretty at all... Does he have access to a fluoro machine now??

((hug))

I hope you find one asap that can help. Perhaps your surgeon knows of a cheaper place? (Just trying to think of ideas with you).

Honestly, I didn't even think to call around until my date was SO close, so I totally get that.
