Thanks. I am feeling a little better every day. I was on liquids all last week and started adding some food yesterday. I over did it though and ate too many mashed potatoes and they got stuck. It hurt. Learned my lesson. They were also not creamy enough so that didn't help.

I'll be glad to be able to eat normal food again. I am not really hungry, but I love flavor and there isnt' much in mush!

here's my favourite recipe for mushies ( I did not even get that phase) that I still eat now and in fact just had before getting ready for work tonight, some refried Beans (the roserita ones from the mexican section at the grocery) melt some shredded cheese over top in the micro for 1min and top with salsa, yummy......

That sounds great. I'll try it. I am making mashed potatoes right now, but boiling them in chicken broth. I'll add some horseradish sauce when I put in the milk and butter. Yummy...

Ditto on the Beans as a yummy recipe!

I also made a riccotta/spinach/egg/parmesan concoction topped with spaghetti sauce. It was pretty yummy and gave me a little veggies to go along with my Protein.< /p>

My weight loss crashed to a half day ten and even bounced up a pound or two, but I'm working out, so I figure these sore muscles are holding onto a little Water too. I can tell that my swelling is going down because I'm eating a little more and starting to get hungry sooner.

I've got a pot of potato Soup on the stove right now that smells HEAVENLY.

I am in middle of mushies too. Refried Beans are my favorite! I have actually also made chicken salad with canned chicken, Miracle Whip, and de-seeded and de-skinned pickles. I then blenderized it. It's not the preferred consistancy for chicken salad...but it tastes great! I have also been eating a lot of cottage cheese and scrambled eggs.

Good luck w/your surgery!!

Mushie Foods I enjoyed:

Refried Beans w/LF Sour Cream or Mashed avacado / Salsa

Hummus & cottage cheese

Egg drop Soup

Ricotta bake

Crab Cakes (blended my lump crab meat to make it more smooth)

Lentil Soup - blended

Scramble eggs w/boursin cheese & chives (come out very creamy)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
