  • My instructions were fluids for 24 hours, then resume normal eating. The rationale was the same though - to reduce stress on the stomach.

My doctor says it is because the fill can irritate the stomach and there can be swelling so they recommend a day of liquids then on to mushies the next day. By day 3, slowly start solids again. Every doctor has a little different slant on it but it's because of swelling and irritation that they want to minimize. :crying:
