Wierd Question for Women

Recommended Posts

Ok I have a totally strange and personal question, I completely understand if anyone prefers not to answer, but it's really a major concern that I have. I am just starting the process to get the Lap Band and a good friend of mine had gastric bypass 2 years ago and besides a lot of excess skin, her breasts have completely deflated. I'm really concerned that this may happen to me if I have the Lap Band, she told me that with the Lap Band you don't lose weight as quickly so it may not be as much of an issue. Also even when I was younger (teenager) I was about a size 7 with a C to D cup so I've personally never been small anyways. I know that I'm going to lose weight there, but I was just wondering how this had effected more women, and especially those who have always been big busted girls are you experiencing the same thing? Thanks for your help!

Emily

Emily I started out around a 36DD. Even when small I had a C/D cup, and don't see that changing one bit. I recently bought some new bra's a few wks back @ 34DD, but the cup is starting to be a bit big (glad I didn't spend a lot on them:tongue:). I'm guessing that my end size will be a 32D - which will be just fine with me going down one full cup.

Hi Emily, Hmmm, the universal question of most women everywhere - Will I deflate? - and if you are like many of us the answer is probably a strong yes. Ok, well, for me it has happened like that. When I was 12 I was already a C, with kids (and 100+ pounds) I was a FF, now I'm (thank goodness!) down to a D and am over 40. Yes, they are swinging in the breeze w/out the help of a bra. And hopefully will get down to a B. Most women I've known always lose there first. But there are good bras out there AND good surgery, too, if you are so inclined. For me its not that big of a deal. I'm looking forward to being smaller. Might need a lift later, tho!

I too am quite deflated... to quote some wise person I once read here:

"I lost my boobs, but I still have the bags they came in!"

I have actually gotten bigger. I went from not compleletly filling a C cup to now fitting perfectly and depending on the bra a D. I think alot of it depends on the amount of breast tissue vs. fat.

How's that possible? Hormones? From personal experience I know that with hormones these things can happen but just losing weight isn't usually the way most women gain breast size

I was only a C cup and unfortunately I am now in a B and getting smaller on my left side. The padded bras are now caving in a bit. I am saving to have breast augmentation but it will take a little time to save the $10k they want. Good luck.

I have no idea how it happened, but I'm happy. =)

OMG Argon, I love that. I'm going to use it.

Sorry to say my boobs are a mess. It can be disguised. A good bra is the key and I can even wear a bikini with the right style top. I need something full coverage with a bit of side padding, any plunge style thing, the loose skin just spills out in the middle, ugh.

But nobody would ever know, seriously. And only my husband sees them when I unroll them.

Oh - I'm still a DD like I always was but about five back sizes smaller, so its a smaller DD - a 12DD is not the same thing as a 20DD at all.

Nonetheless they're going to get fixed. There's a bit of a mess left of my backside too but I dont really care about my thighs or bum that much, everyone has a bit of flab there (well everyone who was pearshaped). Boobs are a bit more central to your self image I think, well they are to me. But they're also relatively easy to fix.

thankx for posting this question. Before surgery all i thought about was losing weight. Now I am paranoid not about my boobs getting smaller, but getting to be empty bags. I am a full 38D and I was always big chested. I wouldn't mind smaller tight ones, but big baggy ones has me seriously considering plasic surgery. I've heard that if you lose it slowly your skin can catch up, but I am doubting it seriously.

I was a C for most of my life, as I gained more weight I was up to a D. I am still in a D, probably need to go be fitted again, they are probably almost a C, but they have deflated and fallen :) When people lose any significant amount of weight I think this is an issue surgery or no surgery. I just hope I can get a lift one day!

Yeah mine aren't pretty either. I have been big my whole life...started at DDD. I only went down to a DD, but now they are just LONG! I am waiting for the day when I have to start rolling them up! Fixing them is a bit down the road since I am dropping 10K$ on the Tummy Tuck. Fortunately like Jachut said...they hid well in the bra...my tummy not so much!

My boobs haven't been pretty in years. So losing weight isn't going to change anything but what not-pretty size they are.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
