I take a capsule that has to be swallowed whole. Do I really have to change that med?

I take 2 psych meds and have for years because they work. But one is Cymbalta and only comes in capsule form. Can't be taken apart and obviously not chewed. I hate to ask the Doc for a substitute because it works so well for me. What would you do or what did you do? I am not banded yet but hope to be this year. I have a consult with the surgeon on 4-21.

Cymbalta is a large capsule and is slow release. I guess I'll take me meds to the surgical consult and ask him to be sure.

I too take two pills and one is time released. I just had my nutritionist/ nurse appointment and she said if the pill is bigger than an advil or aspirin it has to be ground up or cut in half. But a time release pill would have to re-perscribed in a smaller dosage so the pill will be smaller and you would take two or more pills to equal your current dosage.
