I was just wondering if anyone knows how long after my Op I will be able to use a sunbed, just I live in the UK where it is freezing all the time and I could sure do with a tan.

Well I hope someone answers....I was just banded a week ago and no one said anything about tanning so I hit the bed today:unsure:

I don't think you would have to worry about anything but the scars. I was wondering the same thing. Are you covering your incision scars or sunblocking them or anything. I was planning to tan soon as well...

I had breast reduction a few years ago and I was told to NOT expose the scars to tanning (or sun) until they are totally healed. If you don't the scars could turn and STAY bright red. Once the scars are healed, you might be OK but definitely ask your doc first.

I started tanning three weeks post op. But i am covering my incisions cause if they are not completely healed you will get some funky discoloration that will not go away!
