I used to find this thread humerous.....THEN came all the donut talk!!!

The worst---most horrible slime inducing, pain causing, head throbbing, heart racing--PBFH (Productive Burp from Hell) I ever had was caused by 2-3 bites of a donut!!!!! I ate those bites, and it began to grow....inside my little banded pouch those crazed (not glazed) donut bites multiplied until they were bigger than the pouch, and the evil productive burp occurred....I have never even been tempted by another donut...they are evil!

Wonder what the OP would have my fat a$$ do since I refuse to eat donuts????? Hmmmmmmm

I bet I can guess of several suggestions she would have!!! :)

Kat

Know what's worse than donuts? pizza. I had my one and only PB on pizza, and it wasn't even the good shit, either! It was freakin' Tombstone! Took two bites and was in absolute hell for 3 1/2 hours.

Krispy Cremes are AWESOME, though. Or at least, they were when I could eat them. And like someone said, you've gotta eat them while they're hot or warm, 'cause they're gross otherwise.

Why does that person keep calling me fat? Did I miss something? My circus mirror shows me young and carrying my weight well also.

One of the girls on a thread I participate in regularly cannot type the word PAIR----as in pair of pants. Everytime she does it comes up with some strange set of words, I don't remember what they are! But the rest of us can type pair without issue, so I figured it was her issue........this feels like that!!!

I have to agree that Krispy Creams are fabulous when you get them as soon as they are made, still warm.

I had a donut the other day. It was a tiny one at Walmart. They were giving samples. After I ate it, I wondered why I did. It wasn't good all.

But it didn't make me pb. I actually would have liked to pb up the calories.

"ignorant": lacking knowledge about a particular subject or fact.

It takes someone with a high opinion of themselves to call a person Ignorant when they don't even know the difinition.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but knowledge with arrogance is supidity--oops -was that a slam?

Now how does that feels!

sensitivity is not your strong point is it?

Haha, you guys post too fast, I didn't even see these messages come up. How do you track the 24 different conversations all going on at once? I'm pretty damn random, and I still get mighty confoozled. So follows my attempt...

As others (who saw this before I did) have already mentioned, I didn't call anyone ignorant, so I'm not sure what you're quoting, but it's not me.

We used to have LaMar's but they closed down. I think.... I really don't dig donuts the way I used to, but I remember being quite fond of a local grocery store's cinnamon rolls. They would make them normal, then deep fat fry them again, just enough to make the outside all crunchy and perfect. Then they would dip half of it in a thick fudge sauce. MmmMMmmMMmMMMmmmm. And where I grew up our local donut chain was called "Yum-Yum" and they had buttermilk donuts (not so sweet, very nice). MmmMMMMmmmm.

What other conversations did I miss out on? I've pooped my share of colors, but never a rainbow... (that's probably a different thread, eh?)

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I think that's where my lack of interest in Krispy Kreme comes from. But when I travel to FL for work, the hotel I prefer to stay at is literally right across the street from Krispy Kreme and I will admit -- few things smell as good as fresh donuts. (Except there are two coffee roasterie plants downtown, one small one mega, and on a good day the smell of coffee fills your car... another thing I don't really like, but enjoy the smell of...)

There's a Flower's Bakery in my hometown. They make a lot of breads and pre-packaged goodies that you see in grocery stores. I LOVE it when they're making cinnamon rolls. You can smell it for MILES.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
