Calf Size

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I'm not banded yet. Working my way through the six month supervised diet. I work out 2 hours a night 5-6 times a week. Due to a bad back I can't lift any weights so I have to stick to straight cardio. I do an hour on the elliptical each night and then either walk an hour on the treadmill, bike an hour or split between the two.

Now here's my question: My left calf is starting to look smaller. But my right isn't... Is this something that you have noticed as you lost weight? Do they eventually even out?

And I know its way too early to worry about this... But I ordered a cocktail dress for my brother-in-laws wedding and now I'm worried its gonna look odd with a big leg and a small leg

I have no idea......but do you have a pool at your gym? If so maybe try Water aerobics this is really low impact but a great workout. They should have weights that will be just like weight training but in the water. I also will feel free to grab those weights anytime in the pool and use them. I am sure you could ask the instructor to give you some moves to do in the pool by yourself.

Hi, I'm laughing because it's SO true! I get one thigh that loses inches and then the other one catches up. My guess is that you are maybe using that side as your "strength" leg...you know, it does more pushing off when you work out? Who knows? The other thing is that I'm sure YOU notice it's smaller, but honestly, WHO else is going to study your calves and go, "WOW...look her left calf is smaller!" Yeah. I doubt that will happen. I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you are doing a STELLAR job with the working out!!!! NICE!!! I think it'll all even out!

*Laughs* You're right. I doubt anyone will point and laugh! It's nice to know that it will catch up :smile2:

Boy, that's a lot of exercise!

I dont know, I'm pretty symmetrical - apart from my boobs, lol. Do you have any symptoms in the bigger calf? No pain or anything? If it feels OK, I'd just hope the other will catch up! If you notice anything about it, like even if it just gets a little more fatigued than the other, I'd see the doctor just to be sure.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
