I live in Lexington, SC (right outside Columbia). I grew up in Spartanburg, SC and have lived in a couple of other towns in this state. I lived in California for a year when I was small and in Colorado for 2 years in my 20's. I love SC, though! I'm 1 1/2 hrs from the beach and 1 1/2 hrs from the mountains! And where else can you use your heat and a/c in the same day?

In Texas that's where. Especially during what is supposed to be winter time. Just this week, it got up to 80 & I turned on my a/c before we went to bed & by morning it was 43 & I had to turn on the heater.

I was banded on February 14th. I'm starting to love my band too, its not doing all the work for me but it sure is helping me manage my eating better. Im still new at it but so far this is great!

That's cool. Valentines Day huh? I am a Halloween bandster. Well, good luck with all of it. It will do a lot of the work for you, you just have to guide yourself & know the signs of being full. My dr. put it to me like this, if you keep eating until you "feel" full, then you've already ate too much. Anyway, congrats on your new beginning, and remember we're all here for you. That's what this forum is for. Support, while going through the same kind of difficult task that the rest of us are going through. Take care & keep us posted on your success o.k.

cowboyfsan if you ever have the oppourtunity you need to visit NO. Great city with a great history. On weekends this time of year my DW and I like to spend the day walking thru the French Quarter. Its nice weather without being humid and hot. If you like music, shopping, good food (I know not something us banders need to hear) and site seeing then you will love the Quarter. We plan to go this Sunday with my Kids and their SOs.

A word of caution, NO is like any other tourist attraction, expensive. Be prepared to shell out money for everything you do.

I will have to change up our routine a little. After walking around awhile 1st, We usually have a big lunch, kick back listen to good music and enjoy the sites. This time I'll have a "little lunch" than go from there.

I am a big sports fans also. Saints and LSU are tops on my list, but I do follow the Hornets and Zephyrs also. I try to go to one away game every year for both the Saints and LSU.

Sounds awesome bigunc. Yes, I've always wanted to go the French Quarter because I've heard so many cool things about it. I'll keep the advice in mind for whenever I do get to go. Yep, I hear ya on the sports thing. Of course (obviously) my blood is blue & silver & I'm very avid about my Cowboys & my Mavericks, and my poor, misguided Rangers! HA!! Well take care, talk to ya later.

LOL Amy :cursing: . . . you're so sweet! I'll start packing my itty bitty bikini . . . ROFL! Ack, I don't think I'll ever wear a bikini again! From my gall bladder surgery, I have 3 small scars . . . now 5 from the lap band . . . plus a c-section scar. Oy! I told my hubby that I could soon play connect the dots on my stomach  . . . he teased and said I have my own personal constellation on my stomach  . . . If I didn't love the man so much, he'd be dead! rofl, jk. However, some San Diego rays of sunshine would be good about now . . . send some this way, ok?

And oh, I've been meaning to ask you! Is that your dog in your avatar picture? He/she is beautiful! What breed/name? I love dogs  I so want to get a dog, but everytime I mention it, hubby gives me "the look". He's not a big dog fan. Not that it's gonna stop me eventually though . . . a dog needs to be walked everyday, and I need that, so it works!

*hugs!*

I'm a Montana boy but I spend most of my time in Alaska with work.

We went to Alaska a couple of years ago. We spent two wonderful weeks traveling from Anchorage to Fairbanks and the Arctic Circle and back and then down to Seward. I am ready to go back. Mount McKinley (Denali) was awesome Kenai Fjords were amazing. I am hooked. I want to go in the winter and see the northern lights.

I am in Conroe, Texas (just North of Houston) I have my windows and doors open, enjoying the warm breeze and awaiting the rain. It is about 70 right now, but a storm is brewing and bringing freezing temps for the night. Bring on the fire place!

Hi all,

I live in North Alabama now. Grew up in Birmingham Alabama and then moved to the mountains of Asheville North Carolina. Lived there about 15 years and then DH was transferred back to AL. I sure do miss the mountains. Someone said they lived in SC. I would love to live in Spartanburg. Perfect location like you said not too far from the mountains or the beach. Maybe we will get lucky and be transferred back up. Oh and Go Colts!!!

I want to go in the winter and see the northern lights.

I go out on the snow machine a lot and when I do I will generally see the northern lights. One time we were coming out of Walmart in Anchorage and I looked up and there they were big as life, those were the best I have ever seen. Kinda funny it was right in town.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
