Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits Before/During/After Pics

Thanks everyone! Ya'll made me smile. I don't know if I could do this without all of you.

I'm starting to really tell the difference. Both of my before pictures were taken a few years ago (my hair was short then, and was a couple inches below my shoulders up until yesteray) - but I was still fat then too - lol...the one in the white shirt I was probably 275 - which means I'm down 50 pounds since that picture. I'd lost weight on WW, but ended up gaining all but 10 pounds back. That was my problem, I could lose, but never sustain

I don't have any current "before" pictures I'm afraid - I ran from the camera because I knew I looked bad.

Pamela - I love my haircut. I only wish I'd have cut it sooner!

I am trying to make myself post every one to two months regardless of how much i have lost, gained, or remained the same. I think that if I feel that I have people to "answer to" will keep me on track (i.e. if the pics start to look like I am ganing instead of losing or no longer losing when i post, it will guilt/motivate me to do better).

Wow Nip,

You look great. You were banded same day as me and I am no where near the weight loss that you are at. You should be so proud of yourself. Bravo!!!

Nip-Congratulations on your weightloss! In all honesty, I think you are closer to a 12 than 14!!! You continue to be my 'lapband heroin'!

Thanks for all of the positive comments, they're really appreciated.

Bamboobabe - size 12 are slowly coming into sight, but not quite there yet. I did buy a new pair of jeans on clearance yesterday and I bought a size 12. I can get into them and buttoned and zipped, but too tight yet. I figure by the time the weather cools down enough to wear them, they should be just right. Even when I started this journey I never expected to get into a 12. I only hoped for 14-16's.

RosieJo- I don't have any specific exercise routine, I just try to keep going at something. It use to be just walking on the treadmill 3-5 times a week, but then I got a Wii and that's my main exercise at the moment. I have dance revolution and Wii fit for it and love them both. Right now I've been doing Wii fit 4-5 times week. When I get tired of this I'll go back to either Dance Revolution or the treadmill again. I like having different things to switch back and forth with.

Everyone is looking great! We just got back from a little weekend trek to the beach. Let me give you girls some warning- the ocean was a bit wavy and rough this weekend and getting slammed in the nose and mouth with salt Water = much discomfort for the band. I finally learned to close my mouth and then it would get me in the nose!! Needless to say lots of water running into your band at one time equalled disaster for me. I usually have no problems with liquids but I take my time and never gulp. I definately had problems with all of the salt water I kept gulping. I had never even given it any thought but it makes sense. If I gulp water at home I will pb or slime in a heartbeat. I didnt have any problems in Jamaica but the water wasn't as turbulent as Jekyll Island was this weekend. Anyway, I am babying my band with some soft stuff today and taking it easy. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Mia, that did not sound like fun! I've never given any thought to liquids being a problem either. Glad you are back and doing okay.

I had my very first pb yesterday. I ate too fast and boy, that was painful!! I took a sip of drink thinking it would help....NOPE! I pb'ed the drink. I knew better than to drink too, but in the moment I thought it might help. Anyway, lesson learned!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
