I've been eating a lot of spinach salads lately. I usually start with a piece of grilled fish, then eat a spinach salad with some dried cranberries, a sprinkle of blue cheese and a couple of pine nuts, and vinagrette dressing. Yum.

Well its not a meal, but its one of my pre op add ins ... fresh/frozen/dried figs. I don't know why but I am totally addicted to them now. I eat them for Snacks, dice em up in oatmeal ..

Meals though, I would have to say the bbq chicken slow cooker style .. it is totally fab! I had to tweak the recipe to make it more health conscious (original recipe is whole skin on roasting bird) but in the end it only has 8g fat per serving ... its totally DELISH! It will make a great blended "smoothy" for the solid liquid stage... LOL

I really like Veggie Spring Rolls, Sushi and Sashimi.

My favorite healthy meal that I can make is grilled chicken or fish (usually Talapia or Salmon) with steamed veggies or over spinach salad. Bland sounding, but it is really all in the seasoning of the meat.

I guess thats a couple of dishes but, I dont really like to cook per say. The band is making me learn.

GKeyT, that sound like a really yummy salad. I love dried cranberries in my salads.

I have become crazy about spinach salads with whatever meat I have left over on it, sprinkled with a bit of cheddar and then Paul Newman's 3 cheese Balsamic dressing on it. Yum!!

My favorite "eat out" meal is always sushi - these days I can't tolerate the sushi rice so I really like spicy tuna tartar, or sashimi. Also, I have asked them to make rolls with me with soybean paper and without rice. They must think that it is a really strange order!

My favorite at home during the week meal is salmon grilled on my george forman grill, with sauteed spinach or zucchini and maybe some potato type of item but I usually try and avoid the potato.

This is slightly off-topic, but since there are so many spinach salad lovers here I thought I'd share anyway. I had this salad at Applebee's and I've made it for my friends and family a lot since and they LOVE IT!!!

Fresh baby spinach

Feta cheese

Dried cranberries

Diced Granny Smith Apples

Honey Mustard Dressing

Oh my gosh, I'm drooling just thinking about it. I hope I can eat that again someday.

I love all of the vegetarian Breakfast sausages. They don't have lots of calories, keep you full and are full of Protein. Plus you are eating soy instead of meat. They smell and taste so much like the real thing that my dogs go crazy for them!

Mine is something I call mexican egg salad. I made it up - 4 hard boiled eggs (only 1 whole, the other three whites only), cut up some onions, them some green bell peppers. Then add salsa and tapatio picante and mix it up with a fork. LOVE IT!!

Do you have any problems with the sushi rolls? I got banded on February 13 and I love sushi rolls. I was not for sure if I was still going to be able to eat sushi.

Thanks!

I'm not banded yet, but my favorite healthy meal is lowfat (1%) cottage cheese with fresh strawberries...SO GOOD...i'm hoping that i'll still be able to tolerate it after I'm banded! I also love sushi (just the veggie ones though...no actual fish for me! lol) and salad...

All of this sounds so good!

Gibson: Your spinach salad sounds delish, I'm going to try it sometime!

Sushi lovers, I am right there with you. That's my favorite eating-out meal. I can tolerate rice just fine, but I only eat one or two pieces of nigiri sushi with rice. The rest I either eat sashimi or I take the fish off the nigiri. I don't eat a lot of rolls anyway, but when I do the only thing I have trouble with is the seaweed--too tough.

BergdorfBlonde, my husband and I just love Morningstar Farms veggie sausage. In Portland we could get it at most restaurants we went out for Breakfast at, but not in Spokane. I do have it at home, though, and it's a great Protein boost.

You guys are making me hungry!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
