Dialysis and lap band

Hello. I recently had lap band surgery and a friend of mine is considering having it. She is currently on dialysis and was told she can't be put on a transplant list until she loses 40 lbs. Does anyone out there know of anyone who is on dialysis and has had the lap band surgery? If so, were the any complications either during or after the surgery? I would appreciate any information, she is pretty bummed about this.

Thanks very much!

I am also on dialysis for a little over a year. I am overweight and trying to lose weight and requested for a lapband but my doctor is kind of iffy on the subject. So I found this site to see if somebody with dialysis has had a lapband and how are they doing after surgery?
