Hi All

had another fill yesterday.I now have 6.2cc.I hope this one does the trick.I will be going to Toronto this month,I have an app. to go see my surgeon and then see the dietian.I have been tracking all my food intake and exercise so maybe they can give me advice as to why my weight loss is so slow.I am staying in my calorie range and exercise.Maybe I'm just eating the wrong foods.I do know nighttime is stil a problem even though I'm staying in calorie range i take most of them after 9pm:sad_smile:.I hate lagging behind everyone,I must be doing something wrong.

Amanda I changed my signature line.
WooHoo! Its so true!!
my number 1 show is the Office. Any other fans? Yep!

Maybe if all the blisters are given a chance to heal they won't come back!

I pop them and keep going. If you only have a few use a product by BandAid that is for blisters. Really works.
We brought the dog with us this trip so when he wants to go do this thing outside I make the most of it and walk him a little further than he really needs to (SMILE).
Good thinking.
Hi Everyone-I really struggling late at night. Any ideas for coping?
Drink cold Water with lemon. Read a book. Take a walk around the block. Do sit ups in front of the TV. Take a bath/shower. Give yourself a manicure/pedicure. Come to LBT and give the newbies some support.

Have a good day folks!!:smile2:

Pat, Im sure you are doing fine.

If you are sticking to the guidelines and making your best effort there is NOTHING WRONG with your progress.

It took a while for the weight to come on it will take a while for it to come off. Be patient. Your body is adjusting to the new and improved you.

TGirl - I think FAMILY GUY is hilarious, just absolutely revolting and hilarious. No matter how much I swear it, the cashier at the Quizno's near me refuses to believe that I'm not the voice of Stewie.

I like THE OFFICE too, but 30 ROCK is my current favourite.

Yay, Rhonda! That's MUCH better! It reflects the woman you have become, and the woman you're becoming!

Mylah, I think that your food and exercise logs will give your team something to work with, but some bandsters are just slower losers than others. It doesn't seem fair, but there's a big range of metabolisms out there.

What sort of exercise are you doing, and how often? As I've said, I'm a firm believer in exercise as the key to weight loss - no matter what your normal metabolism is, exercise will kick it up. And it builds muscle, so the effects are lasting...

So, I got a bit of a lesson today when I plugged in my Bodybugg to update my progress. Just out of interest, I had a look at some of the calculator functions available, and discovered that, given the number of calories I've burned, and the amount of weight I've lost, my average daily calorie consumption for the last month has been... 2650!!!

I think there are two things going on here:

1. My Bodybugg is being generous when it estimates calories burned

2. I'm eating too much!

I'm going to get strict with the program now - cut out nibbles of this and that, stop allowing myself the occasional caloric splurge.

With one exception: Amanda, you'll be pleased to hear that the pan-roasted duck is still on the menu!

FYI Some folks say that the websites where you can record calories and exercise (like daily plate) over estimate calories burned too.

Haha!

The fact is, though, I'm not in any kind of RACE. I don't know how healthy really high speed weight loss is, and I've been maintaining a pretty high rate of loss. So I'm not overly concerned.

However, if I'm going to make my 100 by July 19, I gotta get my ass in gear...

whoever suggested the daily plate for tracking your calories...thank you..it is so easy and it is amazing how the calories add up. Now that I'm doing this I am much mor cognizant to what my choices are.....

Pat I'm also slow on the weight loss and have been very "good" for lack of a better word....hang in there as long as it goes down I've decided I don't really care how slow it is....

Fenton, I Love the family guy and also am a fan of the office....which for anyone who has worked in an office can get much more enjoyment out of it....I love the baby in famiy guy.....and 30 rock is bizarre but very very funny....

OK, Fenton. Now everytime I read one of your posts, I am going to picture you as Stewie maybe standing somewhere in the Village holding a roasted duck (I used to live on the East Coast).

Maybe we should all come up with a charachter that best describes us. I used to use the Winnie the Pooh analagy - about how every personality can fit into one of them. But that always made me go on about how my husband is a "tigger" and how those happy-go-lucky-everyone-else-will-take-care-of-it types keep telling us "rabbit" types to be more fun and spontaneous when we are cleaning everything up. But I digress.

Now on to fills - can I ask you all about them? Do you like the restriction you are getting? Do you all feel much less hungry between meals? Is that the part that is the most help?

I have not wanted to get fills because I really don't want much of what goes with restriction (I am afraid of sliming and PBs or maybe just don't want to go there). I have 2.2 ccs in right now. I know I don't have any restriction and have really just managed the hunger on my own so far. I do get full quicker, but I get hungry much sooner than I should.

I also don't want to get reflux. I did not have it pre-band, but notice myself clearing my throat a lot since having the band. I don't eat too much or too fast (for the most part) and have never had anything stuck...

Speaking of TV, my husband (who runs marathons, is 6' tall, and still wears the same size 32 when he was in high school - I try to feed him sticks of butter) & I can't seem to fully enjoy another sitcom since Arrested Development was canceled. That is how lame we are...

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
