March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Recommended Posts

I'm finally one of you...banded yesterday. Feeling pretty good. Stiff and sore but walking around the house helps. I can't tell you how much this site has helped me the last few weeks to be prepared. I am sure I will have my good and bad days and know I'll find support here.

Good Lord, Annie! After hundreds of posts whining about gas pain, your first meal with your fill is BAKED Beans??? Whadday got, a DEATH WISH???

Congrats on the fill!

Ha ha ha I have had no gas pains, even been drinking carbonated drinks since 10 days post-op. No worries!

So it's all good. I was eating baked Beans on mushies as well, so i knew i haven't had problems.

1 day post-fill, i'm more restricted than i was, but I can still eat more than half a cup. I'll see how I am this time next week, but i might be back then for another fill. I am super-keen to get to the sweet spot!

I was starting on the slippery slope, and i'm still on it, but i've joined weight watchers to try and get my ass into gear. No more cheating!

It will help after i go to the nazi dietician tomorrow, as i'm hoping she'll give me some amounts -- ie recommended calories / Protein grams / carbo grams each day. That will really help, at the moment i'm just guessing, and going under the weight watchers points.

And, as all ladies will relate, this is also that special week in the month when i'm bloated like a sponge and wanting to eat everything in sight! Bad combination!

Annie.

Hello I am in Columbus OH and Dr Ramos will be doing my band on 05-28-08 and I was wondering if he is a good doctor so far?

Hello I am in Columbus OH and Dr Ramos will be doing my band on 05-28-08 and I was wondering if he is a good doctor so far?

Hi,

probably best to try on another thread -- maybe in the general threads, or regional ones? This is a thread specifically for people banded in March 2008, so unless you're lucky enough to have someone in here with the same doctor, you're out of luck!

I would probably start your own thread in the "General" or "Pre-Op" section with the doc's name. More likely to be noticed

Annie

Hi, I think there is a doctors thread out there or you might want to just Google his name and see what happens! Congrats on you 5/28 date, it will be here sooner then you think!!!

I'm so glad we're back! :tt2: I missed you guys. It was like a cruel April Fool's joke... not funny. One more week of mushies left for me. So here's my question for those of who are in or past this stage: What's your favorite mushy food? I'm looking for ideas..

So my saga continues! I went into the ER today b/c I felt I was close to dehydration. The ER doc gave me 2 bags of saline and called my surgeon, who instructed him to give me another. Then my surgeon called when I got home and wants to see me again tomorrow at the surgery center to put me under again and check on the band. If, one inside, he feels like it needs to be adjusted, he will make a change. I was banded on the 25th with absolutely no fill. I'll keep you guys posted!

You're doing grea t...sounds like you have things under control! My doc told me something about a machine like that, but he called it "the magic bullet" blender and he said he got one at wal-mart for about $40 and he loves it! I was going to check it out....

(((I am so sorry you are going through this.)))

I hope once they are in , they will find the problem and be able to correct it immediatly. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting fitted with the larger band.

(((Hugs)))

Christine

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
