What did you have for Easter dinner?????? I had an eas vanilla Protein shake with frozen strawberries blended in. Worst Easter dinner I ever ate.

Wonder what next Easter will be like?????

The kids were glad they didn't have to give me the ears off their Easter bunnies.

I'm in the second stage of liquids being only 6 days post-op, so for my Easter dinner, I had 1/2 cup cheddar cheese Soup, I considered that to be a creamy soup, so hope that was ok, it was delicious, it reminded me of macaroni and cheese without the macaroni, lol.

I'm one week post op now and doing great. I decided to take Monday and Tuesday of this week off still to rest and only have a three day work week from Weds-Friday to ease back into working. I'm trying to keep some variety in my full liquids so that I don't become bored with the same chocolate Protein shake over and over. I tried thinned down cream of wheat last night for my dinner with 1 scoop of vanilla Protein powder and a couple teaspoons of Splenda brown sugar blend. I kept thinning it down with skim milk to both cool it down and thin it until I had a pretty running consistency. It tasted pretty good and the Protein Powder in it made it count for more nutritional value than just eating the cream of wheat alone.

Now for confession time, the serving size on the box was to make it using 3 Tb of the dry mix. I thought, heck I can eat more than that...so I made 2 servings.... mistake -- 1 serving really was filling and I will now be exercising a little more restraint and make 1 serving and if I'm still hungry, make a second. I really was pushing it to finish the 2 servings. So I'm still obviously dealing with mentally thinking I can eat more than I need.

No problems eating this because it was very thin consistency but that isn't the point.

special K how long did it take you to eat the cream of wheat. I made it one day and seems my dr wants me to eat that really slow so If i ate like i think im suppose to that would take me 2 hours. Im still really confused at how fast i should be drinking or eating.

Greetings fellow Shrinking Shamrocks!

Day 2 of the "clear liquids" is not as bad as day 1. I was really trying to be nice yesterday, but a little witchiness came out. YIKES! Anyway, today I'm thinking about surgery tomorrow. I'm glad Christine posted what she did. I'm not really scared, but it is a little intimidating at the moment.

So, I'm really looking forward to eating full liquids. (Oh, and I have Healthwise tomoto Soup which is loaded with Protein - so I guess it depends on which type of soup you are eating) I'm sure after 4 weeks of full liquids I'll be tired of them, but right now.........sounds wonderful!

I'm sure I'll post again before I leave tomorrow. Good luck to anyone left to be banded!

i was told give yourself about 30 minutes to eat. but as we have heard every doctor has their own ideas.

Good luck tomorrow. Dr. Peter's was in on my surgey last week with Dr Wynn. I did not get the realize band like i was told. just as well, the DR are just being "proctored" in the insertion of this new band.

Was really groggy for a bit after surgery, but then that could also have been the pain killer they kept pumping in me!!! LOL

What time do you have to be there tomorrow.

Good luck

Lynn

I am so thankful to have you all as my support group. I haven't been online for a couple of days and just caught up on the posts. My surgery is in 2 days and then I will be able to use the info you are posting about now. I don't have to do a liquid diet before surgery. I only have to stop eating twelve hours before surgery. I am trying not to go hog wild and have my "Last Supper" for every meal. I am eating sensibly and know that it's all going to stop reallll soon. ...Kathy

WOO HOO!

First time to put jeans on since my surgery.....I've been wearing stretch pants so I didn't bother the incisions, but figured I better try the jeans since it's back to work day tomorrow......and guess what.....they're LOOSE...and they weren't before!!

I can't believe how well my incisions are healing....still a little bit of bruising, but they look like scratches....I couldn't be more pleased. The folks at Sports Illustrated will be delighted that they won't have to airbrush them out at the annual swimsuit shoot........HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....I crack myself up.

Hey everyone!!!!

FENTON:: my sister in law...she said sorry for being such a $*% and being negative I have no idea where it came from but it was funny!!!

Anyway I see the dietician today and I am nervous.....I noticed yesterday that I am entering Bandster hell....I was able to eat about 6oz of food last night when I got home for dinner.....ugh.....HELP!!

Much love to all my lil shrinking shamrocks!

Hi Lynn!

Glad to hear it went well for you. Dr. Peters is such a nice man. Bummer you didn't get the realize band, but I guess as long as it works, who cares? Good that you were groggy! better groggy than in pain.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I'm a little nervous and well know for not being able to sleep when nervous. I expect to be here in the middle of the night reading the boards!

At this point, I am supposed to be there at 7:30 tomorrow. They said they could possibly call me to come in earlier. I figure 7:30 is pretty good. I would hate to wait around and not even to be able to drink Water.

ah well.......drinking my first cup of chicken broth now..... I never realized the stuff tasted so good.

Harley, tried my jeans on today and they still did not fit. I'm going to say it is because I am still swollen and you are 2 days further along then I.(smile) Question for the ladies, does the bottom of your bra hit your incision sites? What are you doing for it? I'm not real sure I am going to be able to wear one all day on Wed. and don't think my co-workers want me pulling that bad boy off about mid-day!!:angry:

I keep some gauze over the steri-strip, and then put on a sports bra. Doesn't look as good as an underwire, but I'm not comfortable with the regular bra yet...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
