March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
Hello ! I haven't been on here in quit awhile and didn't think I needed this support group any more. For the last few weeks I've been getting emails from here and I recognized some of the names. I realized that I do need the help and the support this group offers. So I hope you don't mind me joining in. I thought I was the only one still struggling to get the weight off and keep it off. I was down to five pounds of my goal weight and my "friends" kept telling me I looked sick and was not my happy go lucky self any more and should gain some weight back. So using that as an excuse to eat I ate and gained thirty pounds back . I was over eating so much that I was throwing up in my sleep . The pouch was so full that I had streched out my esophagus and it was also full of food and that was why I was throwing up when I laid down. They took some fluid out so I don't have the restriction that I had but it made me aware of what I was going to myself. So now I'm trying to get back on track lose the weight I gained and the five pounds that I wanted to lose. I just started to date after a long long long time of being by myself which is very hard thing to do considering the fact that I have always used food to satisfy or crush my emotions. Should be instresting.

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
Hello I haven't posted here in almost a year,I looked in but thats all. I just came from the Drs. had to have some fill removed. I was waking up in the middle of the night to find that I threw up in my sleep. It was going on for a few months , but I was afraid to tell the Dr. because I thought he would remove my band and I would rather change my sheets every night than have that happen. I was forced to go to the Drs.by my family and after an upper GI all I needed was an unfill. Now I feel great!

I got a fill last week and now I think I'm too tight again. I feel as if I'm stuck even with a sip of water.I hate to get unfilled because I know I'll lose weight with it be cause I can only eat a 1/4 cup of food and it's hard to get that much down. I just have this dull feeling in my chest .Ithink I'll give it another week to see if it gets any easier .

I have been eating like a pig the past week and I know I gained a few pounds . I've been depressed and when I'm depressed I eat . Today it hit me as to why I've been so down . Today I am 50 years old . I knew something was off with me . I really didn't think it was going to bother me , the big five O , but I guess it was and still is . I just have to get a grip and try to remember that I'm healthier now than I have been in the last 20 years . I think I go back to bed and mourn for awhile and get over it . My family is taking me out to dinner tonight .

Getting Rid of Gas
The only advice I can give you is to walk and walk some more . Gas X didn't work for me the only thing that helped was to keep moving myself .

6 month weight loss BCBS
I also have BCBS NJ . I went for an extra visit during the six month monitored weight loss because I missed one appointment . The Dr. wanted to make sure we covered everything . I got approved first time .

How forthcoming are you to people when they ask what you did to lose weight?
I've only told a few people about my surgery. When they ask I tell them diet and exercise. The reason I don't tell them about the lapband is because one of my "friends" told me I was taking the easy way out . I just want them to know it wasn't just the surgery , I had to diet and exercise to lose the weight .

Just wanted to let all of you know my BIL got out of Helen Hayes Hospital on Wed. He's spending a few months with his family upstate so they can help him with rehab. So this is my first free weekend and I'm spending it with my grandchildren . It feels strange not having to rush around to get everything done at home so I can run to the hospital to take care of him . I feel liberated . I hope that doesn't sound selfish .

My surgeon sumitted my paperwork as so as he got everything he needed ( test results,6 months of diet, ect.) I'm sure yours will too . I never heard of the dictation part that you read about. Sorry can't help you there.

I think setting a goal is a great idea ! I'm in . I will set my goal at 20 lb. loss by Christmas . It doesn't sound like much but I know It will be a struggle and didn't want to set myself up for failure . So I'll say 20 and work and hope for more .
