7 kids before age of 17

Recommended Posts

This kind of stuff piss of any other tax payers? I know it's not in America, but it may as well have been. :tt2:

-----

16-year-old Argentine girl has given birth to female triplets - for the second time.

The girl, named only as Pamela, had her first set of female triplets aged 15, having first given birth to a son when she was just 14.

All seven children were born prematurely but without any kind of fertility treatment.

While doctors say the three newborns and their mother are well, the case has sparked debate across Argentina.

In bars and cafes, as well as the letters pages of newspapers, there has been widespread criticism of Pamela's alleged promiscuity.

Pamela's family already receives help from the provincial authorities, which donated land and built them a house when the first set of triplets was born.

Pamela's mother, who cleans houses to support her daughter and rapidly increasing number of grandchildren, says they will now seek more assistance from the government for the new additions to the family.

Some Argentines are arguing that perhaps what Pamela needs is more advice on contraception.

The teenager, who will be 17 on Monday, comes from the remote town of Leones in the central Argentine province of Cordoba.

It doesn't piss me off as a taxpayer since it's in Argentina. I'm not familiar with Argentinian culture so I don't feel like I can really pass judgment. But at the same time, I can't imagine a 17-year-old in any culture being equipped to deal with that many children. If the government there is aiding her and her family, that support should also include sex education and birth control. Because maybe she doesn't quite know how that happens. :smile2:

Heck, I might anger some people, but I think 7 kids is too much for ANYONE, any age, married or single. Kids need attention, love, discipline, and guidance. I have two kids and my DH and I struggle to do as well as we should by them... Granted, one has autism and both have a lot of energy (more than most kids). But even still, wait until you have to schlep to birthday parties, dance, soccer, baseball, church activities, etc... You get my point.

I work in a move up prgram where these people have 7 children and they are in their early twenties. They live off of welfare and from our taxes here in the US. They are supposed to go from welfare to work. Most of these girls are pregnant now and tell you that they are still not done having babies, because they are from a new boyfriend.

I am a foster and adoptive parent and I see a lot of girls in my home town that just keep having children and the kids are being taken from them for the state and people like me to keep them up. As a foster parent of a child from 0-5 years you get a total of 14.00 a day to care for these children. I have one child that has 5 siblings and all 6 are in foster care. I want to say people like this should be forced to have their tubes tied or something but I also have to keep in mind if it were not for these people I would not be a mother.

It really doesn't matter if this was happening in the US. Even if there was no welfare system in the United States at all the good ole government would find something else to do with our tax money, like start another war with another country etc. I think that the welfare system needs to be reformed in a serious way, people should only be allowed to receive welfare/food stamps/government housing for a certain time frame and during that time frame they should be going to some kind of technical school to better themselves. My sister is a single mother of 2 children(ages 15 and 9) and she makes $12 per hour at her job, she was told that she makes "too much money" to qualify for food stamps. She lives paycheck to paycheck. This government is seriously f***ed up in the way it "helps" people.

but essentially are punished for the actions of their parents.

I don't believe welfare is a strong motivator to have children, depending on which state you live in. It's a much deeper issue relating to culture, socioeconomic and education.

my opinion is this---i have to work every day, pay taxes--don't have kids because i can't afford it, our employees must be drug tested or they get fired--yet, as a tax payer, I get to support all of the children and welfare recipients that continue to have children, don't work, don't try to better themselves--don't have to take a drug test and recieve a check every month. Granted it is not the childrens fault, however, at some point people need to be responsible for their own actions and quit making excuses and creating new "labels" for why they are the way they are. Enough is enough---how about this country providing a little more support for our elderly that are not capable of earning anymore money and have to choose between a meal and medication.

That's 100% how I feel Dashley. And when I hear about articles I posted, I get fumed all over again.

I work full time, my husband works full time. At the end of the year, we have paid over $15,000 in taxes. And yet, we live paycheck to paycheck. This is WITHOUT kids. We worry about how we could possibly afford kids.

Yet, we welfare pays for women to have kids.. no, they give them an excuse.. to have kids. And not work.

I believe welfare has a purpose. But it should be regulated. It is now the excuse for people not to be productive in society. I watched a case where a woman was paying $50 for rent, and gov'n paid for $900 of it. Said woman was young, able bodied, with kids.. and another on the way. The judge asked her, why she doesn't get a job. Her answer? Because IF SHE GOT A JOB.. the gov'n would not pay for her rent. Well damn, I must be doing something wrong.

Another instance, they had enough money 'saved up' from gov'n assistance.. to LOAN someone money. Thousands. I don't even have that much in savings. Another instance, the food stamps were used for drugs.

It is infuriating for me, who lives paycheck to paycheck, knowing my money is going to fund 10 lazy people, and maybe 1 person who needs it.

/end rant.

It is my pet peve---and honestly--I don't care who I offend when it comes to this issue. With all of the sex education, free birth control etc... there is no excuse to continue to have kids that you can't take care of on your own. Temporary emergency assistance--yes--5th generation welfare check--not ok! If you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em. And for the men creating children they have no intention of caring for or being a positive influence in their lives--how about a vasectomy. I would be in favor of a "free" spay & neuter clinic.!

I was just wondering how you (Fairy and Dashley) feel about the "free" assistance the illegal immigrants get? Also how do you feel about the fact that legal immigrants come to this country and get assistance for housing, food and loans with low interest rates to start up businesses?

I feel the same--if you are an "illegal" immigrant--you have no rights to assistance--you are illegal! If you are a "legal" immigrant--great, you took the proper steps to enter this country legally--however, that does not mean that you should automatically be provided with assistance to get food and housing. Low interest "loans" to start a business and be a productive member of society is fine. I am fine with temporary assistance for our citizens--I am not ok with a free ride.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
