Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Hi everyone. The holidays are here and so are the temptations. The breakroom at work always has something to eat. I've tried to avoid it. I'm going to pour through my weight watchter recipes and try to have some healthy foods in my fridge for me. I also plan on buying some frozen low cal meals to eat if I'm in a hurry. I haven't been eating alot but I'm eating wrong- I want to have a healthy routine in place for the new year. WE WILL ALL LOOK AWESOME THIS SPRING!!!

I am so upset. I found out today that my husbands job did decide to change insurance companies after all, they told them a month ago they werent changing it but....they did anyways. I cannot believe this. So as of Jan. 1st its changing, and my surgery was tentatively scheduled for end of January. This new insurance company wont cover it because they consider it "experimental". This is horrible.

I left a message for Marietta to see if there is any way to get it moved up before the end of December but I think at this point it'll take a miracle. This really sucks.

I don't think Marietta can do anything for you.. You need to call dr hoffmans office asap.. they will need time to get the approval from the present insurance and tentativelly schedule the surgery prior to the end of december.

Good luck

i got ahold of Lisa Dr Hoffmans asst. and she's going to look into it, so I'm still hopeful. Good thing I had already got all the major tests out of the way already.

Daniellabee, good luck on the insurance. I just found out my insurance is changing and will cover less and they are cancelling my husbands. Since he is in the middle of a health crisis that could be very bad but thank goodness he is eligible for medicare. The whole health industry seems to be in an upheaval! My insurance approval (Independent Health) only took a few days.

I just returned from my 6 week visit. Since I already eat everything I didn't get an diet changes. Two things I did hear where no tanning where the incisions are (someone was asking about going to a salon) and dont' focus on the numbers. I go back on January 13th and I asked Dr. H what he would like me to weigh then and he said he doesn't care just as long as I don't over eat and exercise.

I lost 18 pounds since my pre op weigh in and my A1c is down from 7.9 pre op to 6 AND I haven't had any diabetes meds since surgery! Even though I confessed to some overeating and mistakes he made me feel he was very proud of me.

Hi,

I live south of Buffalo in Olean. I am having the band done in Rochester on 12/9 (wish I would have known how wonderful Dr. Hoffman was before choosing Rochester - oh well). I have so many questions and would like to talk to someone in person. Would you be willing to talk? You can email me at jem_74@hotmail.com

Thanks!:)

How do I schedule a pysh appt?

Call 716-689-3333 -- Suburban Psych Associates.. 85 Bryant Woods South (off 990 from the 290 ) Check to see if your insurance needs a referral. Call asap.. I had to wait about 3-4 weeks for an appointment. Just tell them that you need a psychiatric consult for preparation of bariatric surgery. Drs Hoffman and Posner uses this group.

Good Luck

Linda, congrats on your wt. loss. I was there today same time you were, I asked for you and they said you were already in a room, so didn't get to see you unfortunately. Did you get a fill today? I didn't, he said no fill before holidays, cause he didn't want anyone getting stuck.. but I did manage to lose 12 lbs since 6 weeks ago, so I feel pretty optomistic. wish we could have met, talk to you later. vicki

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
